Cirrhosis/Sprionolactone/testosterone
I know. Bit of an odd one!!! Hi all! I’d just be interested to know if anyone has had any (male) hormone issues surrounding cirrhosis and/or the use of Spironolactone. Or perhaps it’s just me?! About a month before diagnosis, (I couldn’t see them because of my swollen belly), It felt like my testicles

ENTRESTO 49/51 (+ Bisoprolol, Eplerenone, Aspirin, Simvastatin, Omeprazole, Dapagloflozin, Furosemide, Mexiletine).
My husband (79) has been on Entresto for nearly 2 years. Has no energy or strength and is tired most of the time with breathing problems after a very short walk in the garden. Hasn't seen cardiologist or had his EF checked since prescription issued. GP will not change any medication cos of heart problems

I’ve heart failure now with

Strange smell
Since I started on the drugs below, I seem to have a strange smell constantly in my nostrils. My wife says she can't smell anything. This strange chemical type smell is apparent in my pee too ( at least to me!) I'm due to see my HF nurse on Friday, but has anyone ever experienced this? I was diagnosed

After Heart Surgery
I am 65 years old and had minimal invasive aortic valve replacement in April 21. They went in through the right side of my chest and the op was a success. I am having an ongoing problem of water retention which I am now finding quite worrying. The GP has given me Furosemide water tablets 20mg to take

spironolactone for gas diffusion
just want to know if spironolactone can help with gas diffusion from the lungs to the blood supply. it has worked quite well on my blood pressure. But it was a recommendation to improve exercise tolerance as well. Just wondering if this has helped others.

Good news
Morning all, Just wanted to share some good news 5 months post mitral valve repair. My latest echo showed an excellent result which is great news. So glad I went for it when I did and I feel very priveledged and lucky that the NHS were able to fix it so well. I'm now able to stop the bisoprolol and

Side effects of Spironolactone
Hi my cardiologist has just prescribed me Spironolactone. He says it’s another way of protecting my heart. Has anyone had any experience of this medication? Especially aimed at males as the side effects are male boob growth.

Baffled
I have pulled back from level 4 cirrhosis with ascites and jaundice as well as two bad bleeds and was doing well. I then developed a pregnant stomach again ( I'm 60) drumlike, tight, uncomfortable so I assumed ascites and resumed spironolactone. No effect. Had a US scan on Monday- no fluid found! Has

Change from Furosemide to Bumetanide
I am on 80mg Furosemide in the morning and 20mg at lunch time (a quite large dose). I have recently been asked to stop the Furosemide and change to 1mg Bumetanide. Has anyone any experience of this medication they can share?

Acute kidney failure
As if heart failure was not enough my non existent GP sent me a very brief letter informing me that I now have acute kidney failure which may be “age related” ! Oh yea, nothing to do with the furosemide and Spirolactone I am on then. No request to see me to discuss as they have a Fort Knox policy and
