Blue Horizon Thyroid Premium Gold test results
Hi, I'm fairly new to this site & this is the first time I've posted. I had recurrent non-malignant cysts on my thyroid with no other apparent symptoms in around 2006. Initially the cysts were drained using needle aspiration. (At this time, one of the sonographers who was performing the needle aspiration

The Cause of my Afib - a short essay but a long post!
Apparently as human beings we are programmed to look for causes. It seems to be a stage many of us Afibbers go through despite the good advice of those with more knowledge and experience. So I thought it could be helpful to share my own journey through the folly of myth making and lost causes. And

Circumcision done by Laser.
After a couple of years worth of issues with Phimosis and BXO I decided to get a circumcision. I searched online for weeks and decided that the Laser method would be the best for me and my situation. I met with the Doctor, I went private btw, and he talked me through the whole process and answered all

Violently sick
Hello. My mum is 72 and had surgery 8 years ago. She also had a stretch as she had problems with food getting stuck. Within the last 6 months she is being violently sick most evenings. She has had an endoscopy and found that food is causing a blockage. They are not able to do another stretch. The doctor

Grumpy Old Lady in pain
A follow up to my previous post.. Is it my fault? That I didn’t give them enough relevant information when I phoned? How do I know what is relevant when I’m not a trained medical professional and I can’t see what comes up on their computer screen against my name? Would it hurt for them to ask

Cancelled mitral regurgitation op
Good evening all. Any advice please? I was told back in June I needed mitral valve repair or replacement. Having been given 3 dates for surgery all cancelled I was then told they had forgotten to refer me to a multidisciplinary team meeting to confirm operation. I have now heard back that the team has

Struggling...
So, I've been struggling the last several months. Much moreso than my normal day-to-day struggles. I posted about one: my recent prostate cancer diagnosis. That was difficult to hear. Early on I made the choice to have a prostatectomy. Shortly afterwards I started feeling tons of anxiety. Not necessarily

Likelihood of hearing loss after gamma knife
Hi All, I’m a 40y/o woman diagnosed with an AN a year ago. I have had a follow up MRI and unfortunately the AN is growing and I’ve been recommended to undergo gamma knife surgery within the next year. I had very mild hearing loss upon diagnosis but surprising it improved and my hearing is technically

Advice please.
Hi I’m in A&E at the moment with my 87 year old mother. Found her this morning lying in blood soaked hair and pyjama top with cuts to her face and head. She’d fallen and banged her head. Within 30 secs I think I had maybe an adrenal crisis. I am currently only taking 5mg. I felt sick, my face was

Is this just chronic pain?
Afternoon, I'm trying to work out if what I feel is just chronic pain or if is could be something else. I had major surgery a year ago and since then suffered painful pain around my stomach. The past few months it's been effecting me in different ways as well as the stomach pain, I'm always having migraines

Choosing a treatment centre/surgeon
I'm pretty sure I will soon need mitral valve surgery (preferably minimally invasive) but how on earth do I find out/decide who/where is the best?

Surgery and PMR?
How important is the fact that you have PMR relevant to hospital treatment and surgery? I am on a low dose of Prednisolone and recently had abdominal surgery. According to my GP’s surgery notes I don’t have PMR at all but it has been recorded on the NHS database and I get extra Covid vaccinations.

Finally
Morning I actually got to see my GP last night! Thankfully she listened ( borderline B12 and very low folate) this is after speaking to two other Gps in the surgery who didn’t believe me ☹️ Anyway she suggest Pernicious Anemia! Woohoo! So have some blood tests to follow ❤️
