Input on Timing of Initial ADT after RP/SRT Failed
After surgery and salvage radiation therapy (SRT) have failed, it appears I'm headed for androgen deprivation therapy. Like many things in the world of prostate cancer, the recommendations as to when to start ADT seem to be all over the place, so I'm seeking any insights folks may have based on your

COMBINATION THERAPY IS NOW UNDER REVIEW
This review indicates how and why combination therapy may be used in treatment. Interesting in itself, but another example of cherry-picking evidence ( we aren't mentioned in spite of starting this concept in 2012. Good cliquish admission where the "nonprofessionals"are best kept well out of the limelight

Hi, I'm 68 years old. Here are the key points in my story so far: In July 2023 a blood test showed a PSA value of 45. On September 26 2023, prostate MRI showed a dominant tumor in the prostate with extension into the right seminal vesicle. Also the fat plane between the rectum and prostate is lost

Robert
Robert was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2018 PSP in 2021 progression was slow at first. Last year Robert was walking with a cane and dragging his feet. In September he began to fall daily sometimes more. He got weaker every day and finally allowed me to call a rescue. What followed was a whirlwind

Combination therapy T4 + T3
Hi, since 2 weeks I started to take 10 mcg T3/ 2 days on top of my daily levothyroxine. I remember my periodic cycle was 24 days instead of 28 days when TSH was rising before. Today I was surprised to get my period at d23?! I am confused again. Was expecting the opposite.

Overdoing things
My wife and I made the mistake of overtaxing my brain and emotions by putting appointments and excursions in my diary without allowing for recovery time between each one. I forgot that it usually can take two or three days to get my energy levels back after setbacks, home visits, medical appointments

Covid advice
Has anybody got any advice on how to deal with Covid when on combination therapy? I've just gone down with it for the first time and I'm wondering if I should just continue as normal. Have a pretty high fever and heart rate...wd the T3 exacerbate this?

Should the dose of Dutasteride be increased?
The plot above shows the residual (nadir) level of DHT in men as a function of the daily Dutasteride dose (mg/day). The DHT nadir numbers shown in this plot are: 23.8 pg/mL for 0.5 mg daily dose; 10.2 pg/mL for 2.5 mg daily dose; and 7.3 pg/mL for 5 mg daily dose. Ref: Clark (2004) [see Table

New 2024 AUA/ASTRO/SUO Guidelines for Salvage Therapy
https://www.auanet.org/guidelines-and-quality/guidelines/salvage-therapy-for-prostate-cancer Not surprising. I think they should recommend adjuvant ADT at a PSA≥0.35 instead of ≥0.7 because I think patients are hoping for curative SRT and not just equivalent survival. https://www.prostatecancer.news

Depression sucks
I have been struggling for two year. In the last two years I have been hospitalized 5 times. I found that ECT/shock therapy, is the only thing that helps. So I started about a month ago feeling better and the depression was lifting. So I changed my ECT to every other week and it was going well, however

Chiropractors
Sometimes I comment on chiropractors and how they can affect health issues. I posted this on another post and thought maybe some people, who do not read that post, could be interested. There is a chance that the condition of the spine could have something to do with AF. Heart doctors generally do not
