Metabolic Acidosis
I told him how exhausted I was feeling & he prescribed
Sodium
Bicarbonate for a month. So I have Metabolic Acidosis. My GP's have told me now (after I had finished the initial order) that they had issued more of these tablets.

Fungus used in Chinese medicine improves sleep in rodents (and also impacts glutamine/glutamate)
After 30 days of continuous administration of GRAE at various doses, GRAE (1,000 mg/kg.bw) prolonged pentobarbital
sodium
-induced sleep, increased the rate of sleeping in mice treated with a subthreshold dose of pentobarbital
sodium
, and shortened sleep latency.

EYES DRY, ITCHY, BURNING, TEARING
Drink mostly water, soda water (low
sodium
). Occasional apple juice. I have that phone appt. with NP this morning, but my faith rests with our group. My mind is open though. Hope it's not GCA. Blurriness in mainly right eye is my concern.

Treatment after Lu /Pluvicto?
It seems that there is paucity of data related to the effectiveness of treatments after Lu/Pluvicto. I'm beginning to suspect that pubished survival benefits for Radium 223/Pluvicto and chemotherapy cannot be assumed to be anticipated if the patient has had Pluvicto. My husband has completed 6 sessions

What the Heck? I thought boosting Short Chain Fatty Acids (SCFAs) was a Good Thing?
I'm digging into PDTom's post: Propionic acid (

propionate) - Does anyone have any experience? https://healthunlocked.com/cure-parkinsons/posts/150101092/propionic-acid-

And the feedback seems to be "Go Propionic Acid!"

Price of T3
I would be grateful for any advice re: the cost of Liothyronine
Sodium
(T3). I am currently paying £125 for 90 5mcg tablets (lasts me a month) and have no idea if this is a reasonable price.

Advice about diarrhoea symptoms please
I have had very little assistance from my GP in relation to my Pernicious Anaemia with gastric parietal cell antibodies diagnosis earlier this year. GP reluctantly agreed 5 loading doses but no more than three monthly injections after that, even though I have neurological symptoms. I have been supplementing

Olaparib and Radium 223 synergy ?
I seem to recall seeing that there was a trial on seeing if there was synergy to taking Olaparib and Radium 223. But can not find it. Anyone have any knowledge of this? I'm BRCA2 mutated and currently taking Olaparib, and considering Radium 223. Thanks.

Got blood resukts from over 30 yrs aho ago. NHS request medical records
My
sodium
and potassium levels are near enough identical at age 21yrs. My egfr is 72 now aged 54 yrs. Ten yrs ago it was 78. My GP did say egfr decline is most probably age related as all other tests/ scans in normal range. Interesting to find this information out. Reassuring too.

Gaviscon dilemma
I should take the Omeprazole and stop the Gaviscon because Gaviscon is very high
sodium
and too much
sodium
is dangerous. The doctor has never mentioned this and has in fact just prescribed me extra Gaviscon. So I'm confused. I've checked the ingredients of Gaviscon and it is VERY high
sodium
.

Chemotherapy or Pluvicto
I just completed Radium 223 treatment. PSA has been doubling since I failed Zytiga. Last scans show progression. I am offered chemo or a trial with Pluvicto. The cancer is throughout my bones. What should I do. I have had chemo at the beginning of this journey and it worked then.

Iodine ~ a collection of useful information ( because the search facility on Health Unlocked is totally pants)
The usual dosage is 2 to 3 drops (100 to 150 mg) of a saturated potassium iodide solution orally 3 times a day or 4 times a day or

Ongoing issues
Hi allI am 1 year out of treatment for stage 3C1 cervical cancer. I had radiotherapy, chemotherapy and brachytherapy. I have since had a colonoscopy, bowel biopsies, a SeHCAT scan and EPI test because of terrible bowel issues. I have seen a letter to my GP saying my SeHCAT and EPI test were clear but

Another Diet Question
For example, my daughter has a health condition that requires her to eat a high
sodium
diet, and my wife, who has cancer, has to be on a high calorie diet or the weight just melts off of her. The thought of trying to follow the renal diet is very stressful on me.

Could I try BAT to restore sensitivity to previously used antiandrogen treatments.
I failed Abiraterone and SOC doesn't allow the switch to Enzalutamide. I was reading on the use of BAT to resensitize mCRPC. Would this be a therapy that could work or is it too late now that I have failed. I know its not SOC but I am running out of choices and looking for some clarity. Its basically

Enzalutamide any advice/tips for dealing with side effects
Stage 4 PCA for last 3 years. Had 6 cycles of Chemo and then Abiraterone for 18+ months (PSA dropped to 0.2 then more recently rose to 58 in June '23 ). Abiraterone eventually stopped working and I was able to join Radium 223 trial. Completed 5 of 6 cycles of Radium 223, then elected to stop since scans
