Radioactive iodine versus surgery.
What are your experiences of Radioactive Iodine or surgery for Graves’ disease. I am trying to decide which one to have.

Iodine Testing
Hi Can anyone recommend an Iodine test? I have read that a 24 hour loading test is the best and to also test for Bromide and Flouride as they can block absorption but I'm not sure where to get this done. Many thanks!

Probiotics for Parkinson's disease: Current evidence and future directions 2020
So... I'm taking lactobacillus casei Shirota, which is both the probiotic used in the PD study that showed it helped with bowel movements and is also anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, anti-viral, and anti-fungal. It has been shown to reduce the EBV titers in your system too. If you think PD is autoimmune

Sore neck, hard to swallow..
Anyone ever have a sore neck, difficulty swallowing when adjusting levothyroxine dose? I've had RAI 20+ years ago. But since I've needed such a random dose adjustment after sudden overmedication. My neck where my gland would be has become sore. Hard to swallow but when you push on it, it's sore. Just

Changing brands of T4 - will I notice any difference?
Hi, I believe most of you here are in the UK so you may not know this brand (I'm in Belgium and I've had to order it from France), but I am about to switch from the Belgian brand L-Thyroxine to Thyrofix and I wondered whether anyone had any experience of the latter or a brand with the same or similar

Underactive Thyroid, Hashimoto, Anaemia or none of the above
Any thoughts on the below please? I am considered normal but hoping to see an Endo specialist privately. I do have some more blood test results re: blood count but thought these might be the key ones. Can add if needed Creatinine 83 (range 53 - 97) Calcium 2.41 mmol (no normal range) CKD 75ml/min/1.73m2

Graves and Covid and Surgery > RAI?
I had a graves relapse in Jan 2021 following covid. I followed the reducing course of carbimazole until my thyroid was back to a normal range and now I’m on 5mg per day for maintenance. Low Sodium Salt
Thinking of my blood pressure I want to reduce the salt in my diet. I have some low sodium salt (Brand: Saxa So-Low) in which the reduced sodium is primarily taken up with potassium chloride instead. The packet says it contains 50% less sodium than table salt. It has 51% potassium chloride and 48% salt

Question to those who have stopped taking Thyroid-S
I´d like to hear from members who no longer take Thyroid-S. I realise there is something in Thyroid-S that does not agree with me. When I take it, I get terrible itching all over my body. If I go off it for a few days, the itching stops. When I go back on TS, the itching comes back. I think I am reacting

Iodized or non iodized salt in hypothyroid ?
Which one should we use? In USA we get enough iodine from our food. Recently I saw a non-iodized Salt and purchased it thinking that people with thyroid should avoid iodine. Your thoughts please!

Struggling to cope...
Hi, I first got tinnitus about 8 years ago, seen a ENT specialist and after getting hearing aids, combined with a sound unit at my bedside it lessened to having no impact on my life. In fact I used to explain to folk if they ever get it, their brain would habituate to it over time. Hopefully still true

How to reverse high antibodies?
Hi, I an unsure whether I can share my experience and what I am allowed to say. However, I went to a naturopath for 8 month and my antibodies went through the roof under his care. I had Hashi antibodies but only 50 before I started this journey. I am trying to get an appointment with a qualified endocrinologist

Crazy how fast things change. The same day we saw Dr. Kwon we saw Jeff’s radiation oncologist that afternoon. As I wasn’t anticipating much of an update from that appointment, I posted an update prematurely. In short, Jeff’s radiation oncologist felt radium 223 was the best next treatment. Radium 223

A new T3 derivative shows promise in treatment with T3 and smaller FT3 spikes after taking it
Ths paper and abstract is downloadable. It demonstrates that the new T3 derivative has a good display of less vigorous FT3 spikes after taking it. This means that combination users and T3-only users have a better and more stable response. However, this compound will be patented and sold as rather high

After total thyroidectomy RI treatment, good idea?
I’ve had all of my thyroid removed and some thyroid cancer around my windpipe. It has been recommended I have radio active iodine treatment. I am taking 125 levothyroxine at the moment but have only been on them for 4 weeks. I would be interested to hear what anyone has to say about this situation

Prostate Cancer & Brugada Syndrome
Almost 3 years ago, while being prepped for surgery for a small bowel obstruction, my ECG showed I was having a 'heart attack' that wasn't. Instead I was later diagnosed with Brugada Syndrome (BrS), a genetic defect of the Sodium channels in the heart that can trigger a Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA). This
