bicalutamide no longer as effective?
After more than two years of bicalutamide monotherapy and repeated PSA<0.1 I just received a 0.6. Before the bicalutamide my PSMA scan showed activity in only the seminal vesicle region. PSA was 2.5 at that time. Lupron had ceased being effective. Bicalutamide had a terrific response. I don’t think PSMA

Proteolysis-Targeting Chimeras (PROTACs): targeting cancer by deleting deleterious proteins?
There seem to be a kind of superiority of PROTACs over conventional inhibitors in treating prostate cancer. The article examines various targets for PROTACs in prostate cancer, including the androgen receptor and other critical oncoproteins, while addressing future prospects and challenges in this

My trajectory after a "vacation" and a new metastasis
My backgound briefly (full details in Profile): aggressive form, BRCA2 mutation, RP in 2017, then 39 sessions of radiation, and 3 yrs of Lupron. All at Smilow Cancer Hospital. As a result, my PSA was undetectable for 2.5 years, and in 9/21 I was put on a "vacation" from treatment. Then PSA started

Orchidectomy vs ADT
For anyone who had the bilateral orchidectomy, I would like some advice for my husband. When was it done? Before or after BCR occurred? What are the side effects? Do you take any other ADT meds after? How is your QOL and is there anything you'd do differently. He had RP in Dec 2021. No other treatment

Switching from HU To Pegasys: Skin Cancer Risk
I realized that, for me, the risk of further facial disfigurement from
skin
cancer
was a quality of life issue. I needed my care team to factor that into the medication choice. You guys made a difference ! Thank you!

Steroids and Radium 223
Hi Hopefully my husband will start Radium 223 in 4-6 weeks. He recently stopped abiraterone after 5 months as his PSA was doubling every month. While he was on abiraterone he was taking 2mgs of dexamethasone, although 1mg for the last month. He’s currently taking 6mgs of prednisilone but our question

Has anyone heard of using the Signatera test from Natera to detect the presence of prostate cancer recurrence when PSA is rising but the PSMA PET scan is negative?

Combine standard care with alternative care
The University of Maryland reported two cases of terminated PCs by combining standard care treatment with an alternative treatment. By reducing the PSAs to less than 3, the clioquinol + zinc killed more cancer than testosterone could renew, therefore termination. My PSA in three months went from 58

Odd Lesion
Anyone ever have a cancerous lesion just in tissue not connected to any organ. I have a lesion we are watching behind my left kidney. It has grown from 6mm to 9mm. I have another CT on the 10th. My Oncologist questions that it is actually breast cancer so not biopsied yet.
