Skin cancer
I was diagnosed with skin cancer approx. 4 years ago and subsequently had 2 minor operations to remove growth's from lip and ear, in the last month I have developed small patches which are very embarrassing, is this to be expected with this complaint, were these to be removed I think a skin graft would

Shin Splints
I've never been a sufferer, but it seems quite a lot of new runners are, so when I came across this I thought it might be worth sharing: http://therunningbug.co.uk/training/injury/b/weblog/archive/2014/06/04/expert-tips-to-banish-shin-pain-forever.aspx?utm_source=iContact&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign

Cimzia/methotrexate/hydroxy = coldsores and mouth sores
I am quite used to my mouth shedding skin and having an occasional sore inside my mouth but since starting Cimzia a few months ago, am getting a recurring coldsore and more mouth sores than before (on the positive side, my joints feel much better, as do my energy levels). I am due to see rheumatology

Is there life after shin splints?
I've seen here that I am not the only one to suffer
shin
splints
early in the programme, I was on week 2 day 1 when my legs started to really hurt a couple of hours afterwards.

W4R1 Done!! :-) Shin splints again :-(
Amazed I managed to complete all the runs neccessary for today's programme. But my shins are/were soooo painful :'-( I made sure I stretched well for a good 10 mins before going out too. I went to get a new pair of trainers at the w/e as the one's I'm using did all the training plus the full Moonwalk

Sub 30 min 5k training, run 12!
Unfortunately I spent literally all of last year plagued with what I believe were severe
shin
splints
. I had 8 weeks off over the Christmas period and then slowly got back into running.

W1R1 - so I remember....
I read a fair few of the older posts over the past few days so the Armchair General in me *knew* all about hurting calves,
shin
splints
, pushing through the pain. I had that all covered. In theory. In practice and In no particular order, these thoughts went through my head: - "It's 6.00......

Picking some thyroid brains out there..... After some info/opinions on why my body has started producing thyroglobulin antibodies?!??!
Bit of history.... Thyroid cancer 2006, thyroid removed and RAI. Treated with Thyroxine since and blood work and thyroglobulin and antibodies have all been great until now. Thyroglobulin is still undetectable but thyroglobulin antibodies have appeared. Any opinions appreciated.

Warning: Self pitying post....
I'd been finding the 5K+ podcasts a bit mundane but kept it up, three times a week, averaging a 32 min 5K but then my old friends
shin
splints
reared their ugly head, along with recurring hip bursitis and now I've done something to the back of my foot / heel (achilles???).

Help I have bad knees. Rice, rice baby. Supports, tape and rock n roll. Dodgy knees and beyond.
It's great for ankles, knees,
shin
splints
, archilles, back, hip, IT band, shoulders, wrists in fact pretty much if it hurts there is a taping application for it, oh and it comes in a range of funky colours

Have you had cellulitis? If so how long was it between the start of your lymphoedema until your first infection?

Good news and excellent customer service
And sure enough, it seems that I pronate slightly on the left foot, and that pronation can result in
shin
splints
and pains in the muscle that was hurting me. I haven't had serious
shin
splints
, but my shins has been hurting regularly while running.

Just about to start week 3. What is this pain in my leg?
Now though I have developed an ache in my left
shin
at the front. Could this be the dreaded
shin
splints
? If it is then all the advice on the internet tells me to rest for at least two weeks, but that will mean starting all over again!!! Advice needed please.

Lump removal
Had two lumps removed yesterday under local anesthetic, both on my right ribs. The surgeon was great, he was American and went through everything with me, before and afterwards. I have had a few of these removed previously and was told they are lipomas, I asked the doctor if they could be Dercums disease

I am now finding my knees and shins are sore (not
shin
splints
as had them before) is this to be expected? Am thinking that tomorrow I might suffer!! Thank you and very glad I found this site

Black toe nails?
I have psoriatic artritis & my two big toe nails have gone completely black.. They are thicker in appearance than the rest of my nails and are very sensitive to pain.. Has anyone else had nail problems. And what can I do as my rheum said it's a fungal infection and I know it's not!! Thanks
