Joint swelling after viral meningitis
Hi everyone, I believe I had viral meningitis about a month ago. I thought it was the flu and by the time I realized it could be meningitis (severe headaches, stiff neck, etc), we were about to go under curfew for Hurricane Irma. So, I toughed it out and by the time I could get out again, I was mostly

New to Lyme
Hello all! Im new here and also new to Lyme disease, which is a nasty beggar if you havent had it, and just wanted to see if anyone can relate. I take Doxycycline x 2 100mg tablets and it is the worst feeling ever. I also have Raynauds as well as CFS and I find that this medicine intensifies everything

Shin splints
Hi, I feel like a charlatan posting really, as I've been substituting my running with an exercise bike since I got
shin
splints
on week 2. I've hop tested and think they're better. Should I try a run or wait six weeks?

Week 9 is here!!
I considered postponing for a day as I did a hike yesterday that left my quads quivering and
shin
splints
shrieking and I know how important it is to rest between workouts but....this was our last day in Lake Louise and I thought if I'm going to run anywhere, it had to be here.

Can compression sleeves cause back pain??!
So I completed w5r3 last tues but
shin
splints
are getting so bad, I've been advised to take a short break and strengthen. Frustrating 😢 Friday night my Amazon ordered compression sleeves arrived (https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B06XPGVVZJ/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_apa_sJdKzbSV34RVH).

Shin splints - this really helps me!
However, spinning classes have really helped reduce my
shin
splint discomfort. They don't just not cause the
shin
splints
to get worse, they actually help.

Parts of UK identified as high risk areas for Lyme disease
Trouble with identifying high risk areas is that anyone in a non-high-risk area could more easily have their concern dismissed - purely on a statistical basis. Quite possibly without even asking about exposure/visits to high risk areas/etc. Especially if they do not get the bulls eye rash... [i] [/i

Hypothyroidism courtesy of Lyme Disease. Anyone have natural solutions to the Hypo?
Hi, I'm new in the neighborhood, or as we say in Mexico, la colonia! This is a story of my 11 year old daughter. At the risk of giving too much information (or not enough), I've condensed her story into two versions, short story and novel. For those who would like the complete history please scroll down

Symposium this Saturday
I know that many of you are concerned about Lyme Disease and your thyroid function. This is short notice, but if you live in or close to London you may feel you wish to attend this symposium on Saturday. It is only £20. Jane x https://www.lymediseaseclinic.co.uk/speakers/

Shin Splints
I did my first run of week three yesterday and I'm fairly confident I've got
shin
splints

Struggling with shins
Ended up with what I think was
shin
splints
. So I rested fully for a few weeks, went to a running shop and invested in fantastic running shoes, started warming up properly and started the couch to 5k app.

Boils and pus.
I had a boil on my leg which was for 2-3 days normal. But after the 3rd day it started becoming hard and red. Today I popped it and pus flew out. but there's some water drainage too. And there is some pain where boil appeared and some on middle part of leg ( boil appeared near the heel). Is that normal

A relief!
I was relieved to be told by my Consultant Dermatologist that the small lesion on my cheek was only a Acinitic Keratoses which can be put right with chemotherapy cream. I went for a full check as I learned from this excellent, informative forum that we CLLers have to be wary of skin " issues" as the

Also I had really bad
shin
splints
last week after runs 1 & 2 but now I don't have them atall. Is this common for them to just go away? After each run I do half hour in the pool. Usually about 20 lengths. Is this good to pair with running to give the cardio a boost or too much?

Slow and steady
No PB at this weeks Parkrun but I was ready to walk after the first k or so as my shins were sore. Just as I slowed to a fast walk, the legend at our Parkrun that is 79 year Jim gave me some encouragement and I picked up the pace again. By halfway round my legs were fatigued and I was ready to give up

Newbie!
I had terrible
shin
splints
that dogged me for 2 or 3 years. Finally packed it in and bought a bike. REALLY don't want to tread the same path so am LOVING the format of C25K, so gradual and plenty of rest days and sound advice built in! Feeling very optimistic that this time I can run sensibly.
