Dr. Sanjay Gupta. Cardiologist York. UK. Has anyone had dealings with him?
I realise I will need to be Privately messaged by anyone with information. I have just come across Dr. Gupta and his work about how thyroid issues affect the heart. It’s not the usual stuff about CHD. His information is thyroid specific. A breath of fresh air it would seem. He seems to work both

My ‘thyroid journey’ has been an interesting one and now approaching its 4th year. I’m fairly convinced I don’t have autoimmune thyroid disease and relatively confident my adrenals play a big part in my symptoms, however it’s not just adrenals as I’ve tested myself on HC solo and it doesn’t work. Aaanyway

Thyroid hormone and cortisol!
According to Paul Robinson in his book recovering with T3, he states that thyroid hormone and cortisol need to be considered together. Then he states that thyroid replacement can worsen cortisol insufficiency. It's on page 316. Then he States higher cortisol/effects reduce TSH and T4 to T3 conversion

Mornin’ guys and gals, This time I’m writing seeking some guidance. Its about Thyroid. I recall many posts on here over a long time about Thyroid and AF but just glossed over them as it didn’t concern me. On 6th July I had to phone in sick as I didn’t feel able to drive my bus. When I got up that

Help with test results
I am feeling a bit better, not so spaced out, no depression or dizziness. I stopped HRT in July. However, I do still get tired, have weight problems, have a swollen scalloped tongue, high cholesterol, goitre, tinnitus, joint stiffness. I am on 100mg Levothyroxine. I take B complex, B1, selenium

Treatment of eating disorders by thyroid hormone
This downloadable paper discusses case studies describing treatment for eating disorders by thyroid hormone. It's interesting in that case studies are described in detail and might find resonance for some posters on this forum.

are CTx numbers supposed to be extremely under range while on prolia?
is that the point of anti resorptive? is P1NP supposed to be upper range on prolia, or lower range on prolia? my Mum's numbers are low. but the tests haven't been done for years, i don't think, and they were run within 3 months of prolia doses, so the ctx would be expected to be low? and Mum's

Who is confused? My surgery or me?
I was asked by the GP to remind him, when I reached 3mg in my tapering, that I should have a synacthen test. I have now done so. However, I am being sent for an ACTH blood test Is this the same thing (I don't think so as I have not been asked to miss the steroid dose and there is no indication that

I am taking synthroid (50 mg) for about 15 years.......after doing my own research there is an effect on bone density. we can finally see the wood through the tree's... My ongoing Thyroid Problem.
I had my appointment with this new endo on the 4th July. She was a happy cheapie type of person and explained my problem to the liking of a damaged car. Which I found interesting. My Thyroid is like a broken car that despite all measures wants to go 70 miles an hour all the time. So what we've done

The importance of training your legs (if you can, of course)
Engaging in fitness activities is considered a standard of care (SOC) for many cancer patients, not only because it enhances overall health but also due to the chemical interactions between muscles and cancer cells. Comprehensive body training is essential, with an emphasis on targeting the body's largest

Hi, I have been taking propanolol 10mg X 3 times a day for my pots. I have now stopped taking it. Would it affect my thyroid hormones? Am taking both levothyroxine and liothyronine.

Does The Thyroid Affect Potassium Levels?
Hi! A bit of a random question but I’ve recently had some bloods taken by my GP surgery and my potassium levels have come back a little low (3.2 range 3.5-5.3) My TSH is 3.06 (range 0.27-4.20), which I think is a little too high although in range, so it got me thinking if there is a link at all between

Graves disease and RAI
Hi I was diagnosed with Graves disease 16 months ago. I have been on carbimazole on reducing doses and T levels were almost normal but then went up. So I am now on 15mg per day. They asked me to think about radio active iodine. I am very unsure about this. From the little I have read it can make your

Why does the thyroid produce T3?
As we all know, the thyroid produces T4 and T3. Given that the body converts T4 to T3, why does the thyroid produce T3? I once asked Prof Weetman this - he admitted he didn't know.
