Prescription drug induced Fibrosis
Hi. Wondering if anyone on here has had the above diagnosis. The drug involved was Nitrofuratan. The Consultant has told me the scarring will not heal.

Conundrum Gastrin
Hi everyone, does anyone have advice when trying to increase weight when diagnosed with Intestinal Metaplasia and Hyperplasia. I have been doing some research regarding the damage that Gastrin can do when it doesn't switch off (NET's tumours) because of low stomach acid and as the Gastrin is activated

post-op incisions
Hi everyone, I had surgery (ovarian cystectomy & excision of endometriosis) on 18/02/24 One of my wounds seems to be open. I feel ‘fobbed off’ by doctors who state it will close on its own. Did anyone else’s incisions look like this? Did they heal okay? Also, my belly button scab has now fallen

Bowel preparation before surgery
Hi everyone! 💛 Just been on pre op assessment and nurse said I don’t need to do bowel preparation at home. I will have hysterectomy with bowel resection and Endo excision. Has anyone had bowel preparation at hospital just before the operation? I am quite concerned what is going on 🤷♀️

Has the Pulsed Field Ablation technique increased success rate?
Although Flecainide 50mg bid has kept AF episodes to a much lower frequency, 6 in ‘23, I’d like to hear from a few more of you who have undergone this new procedure. What are the results; is the blanking period shorter; anyone had it done at Royal Bournemouth Hospital? I hear reports that it’s much

L Glutamine
Hi everyone, could anyone advice me on L Glutamine, I have Intestinal Metaplasia and I don't know if I should take it. I have read it supports the stomach lining but I am concerned that this would only help a 'normal stomach' and I may do more harm than good. Thanks

Tirosint
Hi, I posted earlier about Tirosint in Gel capsules possibly giving me a rash. I stopped taking them 4 weeks ago and the rash continues. Not as bad but still all down my legs and arms. My question. Can it take so long to leave the body? Or am I blaming the wrong thing for my rash? Blood tests were

hello I had endo years ago my story ended somewhat good in that I’mNot in any pain but sadly no conception ,I’m older Still hurts
I had about 8 surgeries to remove endo and
scars
. I finally just went in pill and that pretty much took care of it . Had it to do over I would have become involved with in vitro instead of all the trial and errors . Hard to get pregnant when that disease has been there.

hip surgery
i have damaged my right hip favoring my left “Parkinson’s” side. I have a labral tear and a cyst in addition to a rough and worn bone structure. I see a hip specialist in a couple weeks and will likely have surgery. Who here has had hip surgery on your “good” side?

C section vs Lap Recovery
Has anyone had both a c section and lap with excision, cysts removed and bowel shaved? Just wondering how recovery compares with the 2 surgeries. My pain was gone 2 weeks post section and I was out of bed 6 hours after surgery. Something tells me this is going to be worse! Lap scheduled in 4 weeks, dreading

Another new aspect of this guilt is knowing that certain people now have
scars
on my body assigned to them. I HATE that, they don’t deserve that and I feel weak for allowing that to happen. How am I supposed to move on from this when the wounds are still there and I have that constant reminder?

Approved additives and E-numbers (UK)
As food additives are often discussed, I thought it might be useful to post the current list of approved additives in the UK. Note that the use of substances in foods is largely separate to their use in medicines. One example being Titanium dioxide which is now banned in foods in the EU and Northern

Valproate: new safety and educational materials to support regulatory measures in men and women under 55 years of age
I don't think there is any reason to expect many members to be taking any form of Valproate, but this is such an important issue, with such significant consequences, I've decided to post it anyway. Even if you are not taking it, someone you know might be. [i]
