Anyone else had Lupus Pneumonitis?
I had a very severe 'chest infection' and 'pleurisy' for 7 months... I finally got to see a lung specialist (at the end!) and they tell me it's Lupus mimicking pneumonia! Is it rare or common with Lupus? (It was the factor that got me diagnosed, just yesterday, by my lung specialist of all people.)

Do you have problems healing?
I had a skin graft in January due to a malignant melanoma (possibly linked to MMF) and the donor site is refusing to heal. I am 8 weeks post op and the nurses in the plastics clinic have tried everything they can think of. Does anyone have any suggestions please? I am fed up with having a dressing

Happy days ... re-implantation date in site
I can't remeber if I shared my story with this forum or not so to offset my absent mind here is the short version. I am 36 now. Symptoms started at 30, with Dx at 32 (my better half corrected me). C/L-Dopa etc was working ok until mid-2010 when it kept switching off on me. I was upto ~9 sinimet /day

Fosamax - 70mg once a week
Up until recently I used to take 5mg Fosamax daily as when I was started on it I had just had two lots of major bowel surgery which made me unsuitable for once a week at that time. Recently was told that 5mg are no longer being produced and won't be produced again. My GP has now deemed it worth trying

Please don't be complacent about Swine Flu
I hear people say things like 'Oh, remember
SARS
? What became of that?'. Nothing.. because adequate social distancing measures were taken which thankfully quashed the bug.
SARS
died out rapidly BECAUSE it was taken seriously.. BECAUSE of people's fears.

Aminophylline levels
Apart from when I am getting it IV (and even then it takes days of it) I never seem to get up to theaputic levels. Once I move on oral by levels slowly drop so the drs increase my dose which brings it back up little (not to theraputic levels but better than being in my boots) after a few weeks it drops

Laparoscopy or Laparotomy??
I was told that I was having a Laparoscopy to remove both ovaries and tubes following a borderline Stage 1 diagnosis and now, due to lack of resources, I have got to have a Laparotomy. This has upset me quite a lot as I was not prepared mentally for such a large operation only just having got my head

Welcome (back) Sarah!
In my last blog I said goodbye to a good friend and colleague, Laura, who left us to take on the huge role of becoming a foster parent. She is doing well, and is grateful to those who commented and offered her some advice, but says that sleep is a thing of the past! However, she is enjoying this new

Nice funding
I heard this morning that NICE have decided that women should be oftered a C-section even if it's not medically indicated Now i assumed that the NHS like the rest of the public sector was facing huge cutbacks in funding so how have they come to this decision? There are regular incidents of people

Endo and Complex Atypical Hyperplasia
Hi all, well went to the hospital today and they have discovered from the biopsy that I had taken that I have Complex atypical hyperplasia of the endometrium .If this isn't treated with a full hysterectomy can eventually turn to Cancer. Shocked is an understatement and can honestly say I'm so scared
