newly diagnosed and suffering from the dreaded cold!
Hi Everyone! I've just been diagnosed with asthma a few weeks ago despite having had lung problems on and off for the vast majority of my life! I was born with bronchial pneumonia, then had acute childhood bronchitis up until 16. Then from my early twenties I went through a spate of chest infections

Asthma is out of control again. I hate it, I wish the thing would start behaving
Well I am now into month 10 of the asthma being hell. I changed GP as my old GP was useless and the new one is so much better but I still seem to be seeing him every other week. I am so fed-up. I have been on 5 courses of prednisolone already this year which is 4 more than last year, been on anti-bioctics

Sounds useful 4 winter!
NEW YORK (Reuters Health) - A heat exchange mask, designed to improve comfort in cold temperatures, also seems to protect against asthma triggered by breathing cold, dry air, according to a report in the medical journal Chest. Asthma occurs when the airways tighten, limiting breathing. Cold, dry air

Resp Cons.
I think this is going to be quite a lengthy post so here goes.. Last year my paediatric respiratory consultant said I would have to move over to adult respiratory consultant. It took 5 months for my paeds consultant to write to the respiratory team to ask whether they would take over. I was no longer

Recently diagnosed after a chest infection
In July 2011 I had a really bad chest infection that left me struggling to breathe properly, I was wheezing and coughing and sounded terrible and really struggling for breath. I went to my GP got antibiotics, went away, chest never cleared up, went back. Got given Salbutamol (said I could not have Prednisolone

Stopped meds
Over the xmas period I had a cold and really bad throat one of them that makes you gag every time you take your inhalers as it sticks to the back of your throat so I stopped taking them. My cold cleared up and Ive had no asthma sysptoms at all and for some reason never got back onto taking them again

Mikes been diagnoased :(
my bf was having really bad coughing fits with his hayfever. He went to his doctir yesterday and the poor mites beed dignosed with hayfever related asthma and given a bricanyl 0.5 inhaler (which i believe is stronger than the salbutamol (which i take with beclo ans serevent) so it must be serious) thing

Asthma connection to hypothyroidism?
I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's Thyroiditis in 2004, in spite of not having any of the antibody tests to my knowledge... my GP merely presumed this diagnosis and I was treated accordingly with replacement Thyroxine (the cheap and cheerful stuff...). I had a cold about a year ago, during which time

Asthma attack in a jacuzzi
Hi Everyone I have asthma and am currently well controlled on Seretide and Montelukast. I've not had any Prednisolone this year (needed 4 courses in 7 months last year so a vast improvement) I like to swim 2-3 times per week; this is fine but I've noticed recently then when I get in the jacuzzi after

Should the pred have given me more improvement?
Hi Everyone, this is going to be a long post! I should be on Seretide 125 2 puffs twice daily and Salbutamol PRN. I'm hopeless at remembering to take my preventer and usually 'get away with it' However, I got an cold in early December which caused an exacerbation; but again I got away with it by having
