rituximab no more....tocilizmab here I come
My consultant called me last Friday for a catch up on how I was doing after my second load of
rituximab
which was beginning March. We agreed that its not doing what it should and a change of treatment was required.

Post knee replacement (no 4 I think)
My last
rituximab
was in September and I have to wait another 11 days for the next infusion. When the treatment is working, however inadequately, you do forget how debilitating the inflammation can be. Hands, shoulders, neck, legs, feet all puffed up and painful.

Medication information
When you were started on treatment (
Rituximab
, Cyclo, prednisolone, DMARDS etc ) were you given an information leaflet from your Consultant? If so was it geared to Rheumatoid Arthritis or another Rheumatological condition or was it specific to Vasculitis? Anyone not given any information at all?

Clinic Trail Decision: FCR vs. Ibrutinib/Rituximab
Ibrutinib/
Rituximab
for treatment naive; < 65 years old subjects. The only health issue I have is CLL, (no blood pressure problem, Cholesterol, etc.) so I'm not on any prescription drugs.

No response to Rituximab
I had 2 infusions the last one on Mar 3rd and apart from a couple of days feeling well after the 2nd dose (which could have been a response to the prednisolone cover I had) I appear to have had no response. Is there still time for it to work as I am feeling fairly despondent :(

End of FLAIR trail- question of dosage of Ibrutinib
I have now completed the 6 month combination of Ibrutinib and
Rituximab
on FLAIR trial. Main problem was severe joint and muscle pain, finally stopped Ib for a week- see previous post) After that 1 week on 1/3 dose, then a month on 2/3 and all well. Bloods looking good this week.

Second knee 8 days on or something
Maybe it's the painkillers but I'm grateful for the respite as next load of
rituximab
isn't due til end of May.

TRIAL OR NOT TO TRIAL, THAT IS THE QUESTION?????
In my last post I mentioned that It looks likely that I will be starting treatment in June. IN the meanwhile, I have been in touch with the consultant who I went to for a second opinion just after diagnosis. He can see me next week with the possibility of starting a trial .... FLAIR. I have read so

Severe pain so may have to stop Ibrutinib
Many thanks to all who responded to my query re Ibrutinib and Ibuprofen. In the end consultant said not a good idea. Im any case I am still suffering severe muscle pains and have dropped down to only 1/3 dose. If pains continue will have to stop Ibrutinib. Very disappointing. My blood results have improved

Rituximab Side effects....or not?!
Hello I had my first
Rituximab
infusion (second cycle) last Friday 8/4, for the first couple of days I felt exhausted but that was probably due to the extra anti-histamine.

New to this world of CLL
Hi everyone! I am 60 years old and was diagnosed with CLL on April 25th after many blood tests and a biopsy of the right axillary node. I am very active and adventurous... The last couple of years I had lost my zeal for life and was tired all the time. A lump had come up on the back of my neck.. I

Mycophenolate
Anyway, a couple of meds that we can try were mentioned, namely -
rituximab
, azathioprime, gold injections and mycophenolate, which is the one that we've decided to try.

Shingles
Due to have the second of my 2
rituximab
infusions for RA last Thursday but started with shingles, yet again! So infusion cancelled and am on antiviral treatment for seven days. Has anyone else had a problem with cancelled treatments? How long can be left between infusions for it still to work?

So it looks like the roller coaster is about to begin...
Only 9 months into diagnosis and W&W, it looks like chemo is about to begin. Symptoms have recently become more problematic with huge nodes in neck restricting my movement, groiin very sore and abdomen tender ion right side. Energy levels have dropped dramatically. Scan shows enlargement of all

Weight gain -is there any stopping it?
I recently had my first two infusions of
rituximab
. It seems the disease itself and all those medications predispose one to weight gain and I've proved that, putting on about 3 stone in the last couple of years.
