Drugs for Parkinson's- how do you spell their names?
The most commonly used drugs seem to be Madopar Sinemet Mirapexin also known as pramipexole
Requip
also known as ropinerole Symmetrel also known as amantadine CR after the first two means controlled release There are many other drugs that might be used, and it's confusing

Sleep Patterns
I used to take a Stalevo on waking, but my Consultant has told me to discontinue this and increased my dosage of
Requip
XL, which seems to have made things worse. Knitting seems to stop my tremor, but does not help me to sleep.

Hello from a new boy
I put that down to seeing a marvellous Neuorlogist in Cambridge (not my home town) who recommended Azilect as an adddition to my Sinemet Plus and Amantadine and to change my Ropinirole to
Requip
XL.

I worry about the effects of Requip.
I ve been on
Requip
for about 9 monthe, and just added Azilest, but even before the Azilect, I would get vert tired about an hour after I took my pill, 3 mg 3 times a day. My normal bp is about 125/65.

Should I have DBS or not?
I have the shakes quite bad AT TIMES, not all the time, I take only about 1/3 of the total amount of Stalevo and
Requip
. Because of the waiting time I have begun to worry - do I really need DBS, the thought of someone drilling inside my head, complications etc.

My Mom had RLS, my Dad had Parkinsons - any guesses whether my Requip would mask Parkinsons symptoms?

What do you do when your medication stops working?
I had very high hopes of
Requip
but sadly it had no effect at all. I've ended up back on the clonazepam with a side order of gabapentin but I'm not sure that has much effect either. It seems that for me it's clonazepam or nothing.

Experienced RLSers. Where to next w/ severe RLS? Is there any hope?
I also take
requip
4mg, magnesium tablets, potassium along w/ other vitamins. I am constantly checking my iron which has never been low and do yoga for stretching. Thank God for my Doctor! What am I in for as I get older? Am I on narcodics until I die?

Is PD better or worse with medications?
I have thus far tried 2 meds: Mirapex and
Requip
and the side effects far outweighed any therapeutic effect. In fact there was not any therapeutic effect AT ALLl in both cases!

what should I do?
The question is, should I stay on the patches, or go back to 6 mg
Requip
until I see the specialist in June?. At least the
Requip
was managing the Parkinson's. what does everyone think I'd welcome any advice.

Have you Impulsive Compulsive Behaviour? Do you know anyone who has this? Do you know anyone on Mirapex or Requip. Promipexal or Ropinirole?
I hope you will trust me with your life, if we by sharing our tales of woe about these sad meds we have to take, it could help the Pd people following up in our footsteps, be brave, share your stories, we don't need names, we are all in the same boat, I think it's called the Titanic. I know this is

I find I can control my tremor
Sometimes Stalevo and
Requip
XL together and sometimes at different times. Not a lot of success so far. However, I have found that if I can completely relax and concentrate, I am able to stop my tremors. Although they start again if my situation alters.
