Oh well!
The last time I went to Papworth Thoracic Outpatients clinic the doctor said I should have a hearing test as the antibiotic Azytheromycin, which I take everyday can affect your hearing. I told him I was deaf in my left ear anyway. This morning I went to the West Suffolk Hospital for my hearing test

Ongoing head pain 11 months post Bacterial Meningitis - Cooling cap helps
I had bacterial meningitis, pneumonia and pleurisy back in March 2013. I was misdiagnosed and given the wrong antibiotics, so my pneumonia and pleurisy were cleared up, but the meningitis raged on. I was in severe pain for over 7 months, unable to walk, or bear daylight, unable to read, watch TV, use

It's my health, my body...why is it that my opinion does not count? I am angry, frustrated and feeling helpless!
I was diagnoised just over 10 years ago and fought taking any meds for some time, untl my ablility to function was greatly impaired, which in turn greatly affected my mental state. I am currently taking Ropinirole, (0.5MG, 1 tab-4x dly) Carb/Levo, (25-100MG, 1 tab-4x dly) Entacapone, a generic of Comtan

Not wishing to panic anyone, but a recent study found that if you had shingles under the age of 40, your risk of stroke and heart attack increases dramatically. This is especially pertinent as our recent online poll showed that 38% of people with APS had suffered shingles. The main thing you can do is

Does DBS surgery help your balance improve and does it stop your feet from freezing, which in turn would stop me from falling so often?

Lumber shunts
Hi, in 2002 I had sinusitis with a very rare side effect, orbital cellulitis which gave me a big blood clot on my brain. I wasn't too well as you can imagine. Anyway, I ended up with Hydrocephalus so got a LP shunt - works a treat! I have also been left with the most dreadful headaches (now controlled

I was scheduled to have DBS surgery on the 22nd, but it has been postponed because I have an accelerated heart rate, which I believe is
a side effect of taking Azilect. I started reading more about Azilect and found that many doctors recommend you stop usage for 14 days before any procedure using any anesthetic as the reactions can be deadly and you should never be given Demerol for pain. I am scheduled to see a cardiologist on Monday

Post viral Meningitis
Just recovering from Viral Meningitis, and amazed at how little help, and information that is available. Have been left with severe headaches, balance problems, and the feeling of " Drunkeness " most of the time. Are these symptons normal ? as I am sure my doctors and family think that I am exaggerating

Does anyone have experience of any problems with DBS and the use of induction cookers?
I'm due to be assessed for DBS at Frenchay (Bristol UK) hospital next year - having been told I am a suitable case and have just discovered that the pacemaker-type implant may be problematic with the induction cooker we use. Has anyone got any experience with these devices?

Will I suffer from menopause after I have my ovaries removed?
I'm 16 years old and didn't really know where else to go for answers. I have two benign tumors, one on the left and one of the right ovary. I don't know how my body will change after the surgery. I've read so much information on this specific procedure but still don't have the answers I need, due to
