Always knew
radiotherapy
was on the cards since march and I think I've rode my luck on not having it before now, I'm asymptomatic still, had a few pressure headaches over last weekend but the steroids seem to have relieved that.

Survival after Radical Prostatectomy versus Radiation Therapy in High-Risk and Very High-Risk Prostate Cancer
This just appeared in today's email. Apparently a database study of patients treated 2010-2016. At 5 years out, RP less cancer-specific mortality than RT.....the most significant advantage for very high-risk men. https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/34555930/ Not a randomized study, but will we ever have

Increased tumor marker after radiotherapy
I had a mastectomy in June and
radiotherapy
which ended 20th August. On 20/8 my tumor marker was steadily going down to 41 but has now gone up to 51. Am somewhat anxious, could the
radiotherapy
have caused the marker to rise? Any comments gratefully received Helen

Lung cancer treatments
I really don't want to have
radiotherapy
, I hated it when I had loads of it for cervical cancer.

Looking for face mask ideas
She is undergoing
radiotherapy
and we are hoping this will stop it getting any larger. However she is aware how different she now looks and would like to improve the appearance of her face so that she is less self-conscious when interacting with other people.

Extrapulmonary small cell cancer
Hi everyone, My wife was recently diagnosed with extrapulmonary small cell cancer which presented in the breast. After having PET scan and brain MRI the cancer was thankfully no where else in her body. This type of cancer is very rare and the treatment is typically the same as for small cell lung cancer

I'm new here and feeling blessed
After discussions with the Oncology Team they decided that because of the excellent results, I would not need to have either chemo or
radiotherapy
(but my decision which I agreed with) but to take Letrozole for the rest of my life and obviously as is normal with a breast cancer diagnosis yearly mammograms

Patients located in France?? In urgent need of advice!!!
Based on what I have read on this great forum, I think my father should ask about targeted
radiotherapy
for his spine metastasis and also about radium 223. Will the new Dr get pissed off if my parents ask him these questions?

Losing my determination
I've had my follow up appointment for that
radiotherapy
consultant delayed twice with the next appointment by phone due in a week. Hopefully that will not be cancelled but I'd have preferred an appointment in person.

Hi I am new here, and want to join the team!
I have completed 13
radiotherapy
sessions and 4 out of a planned 35 immunotherapy visits. We live in North Staffordshire having moved here in January from Cambridgeshire which has also contributed to my feeling isolated, this definitely wasn’t part of our plans this time last year.

LDR brachytherapy at MSK: Day after treatment
Hi all, I posted here about three weeks ago that I'd decided on LDR brachy -- radioactive seed implants -- as monotherapy, having decided between that and HDR brachy and SBRT. They were the three options that my RO at Memorial Sloan Kettering (MSK) had said had very good and equal outcomes as monotherapy

Radiation side effects 25 sessions vs. 42
My next decision is what dosage I should choose. (I believe that a breakthrough cure is going to come within the next 5 years that will change the whole approach to treating PCa. In the mean time I am going down the path of SOC because it seem to be the best available choice to make for survival but
