Primary Local Treatment and Non-PCa Mortality in Men with Non-Metastatic PCa.
New Canadian study. Of merely academic interest, perhaps, to those in the group. The U.S. PCa industry is divided as to the best primary local treatment. Urologists favor surgery & oncologists favor radiation. The AMA stands aside, as though the decision doesn't matter. Studies show that the treatment

Second time around.
I had lymphoma 18 years ago and went through a very aggressive chemo treatment, R-CHOPl and was completely cured. Two years ago after months of a pesky cough and a caring, medical savy nurse friend brought me to her clinic and got a chest Xray which showed a mass in my right lung. A biopsy showed it

Looking for those who may have similar Clinical results and have been put on ADT Therapy - Eligard or others
My first treatment was a
radical
prostatectomy
. This lowered my PSA levels to nearly indictable but NOT indictable ever. In 2016 my PSA levels rose and was sent to see a radiation oncologist by my urologist. I was told I should begin radiation for 7 weeks form April 2016 to May 2016 approximately.

Decision time
One year ago I had a
radical
prostatectomy
at Mayo Clinic in Rochester by a very accomplished surgeon. Had one lymph node that was cancerous and recent PSA was .20. Radiation therapy is option. Should I do this at Mayo or come back to local hospital where I am not certain about quality?

Fuming!
I am absolutely fuming! Brief background: Diagnosed with PMR in June 2017 and prescribed 15 mg Prednisolone plus Adcal D3. Had tender, swollen vein in left temple but did not realise significance at time. Having found this site, had confidence to question doctor when told to reduce from 15 to 10 mg and

INFORMATION ABOUT ADCAL D3 tablets.
I have been prescribed these tablets. Like some of you I would like more information about why Spinach, Rhubarb etc., are banned when taking these tablets. This may seem like a silly question, but are there any other vegetables such as brocolli, sprouts etc., safe to eat. Its stupid saying what you can't

Goodbye Alendronic Acid
I was prescribed AA in Jan 2014 when my GP diagnosed PMR. Having started on 40mg Pred I reached 4mg in December. Iasked my GP about giving up AA, and she said no, so I asked for a DXA scan. This happened before Christmas, and I was told that the result would be with my GP in 10-15 days. Yesterday I received

"De-bulking" prostate cancer
There has been a lot of controversy in the medical community about the value of performing a
radical
prostatectomy
on a man who already has metastatic disease. Most surgeons wouldn't do it in the past but a number of studies reported that it helped.

Newly diagnosed with adenocarcinoma of lung
My local VA blew off my frequent complaints of headaches . Turns out they were metastasis from a small nsc lung cancer. Now have had a week's worth of targeted radiation to the head and started chemo last week; pemetrexed and carboplatin. Turns out I didn't have any of the "good" mutations they could

Advanced Cancer Treatment Options
I recently learned that I have four mets on my lungs, one on a rib and one on my pelvis. Had prostatectomy in March 2014 and follow-up radiation during June 2015. Over last year, PSA has climbed from 2.12 in September 2016 to 16.8 in October 2017. Currently, considering either hormone + chemo or hormone

GOOD NEWS - NEW TREATMENT APPROACH
Hi friends! Just returned from a visit at MD Anderson and had good news I wanted to share in case it helps someone else here. My case is a bit unique - I have advanced prostate cancer, but the only place I have any sign of metastatic disease is in the T8 vertebra. (I’ll leave the rest of my history
