ASCO Genitourinary Cancers Symposium (Statins again)
"Although limited by sample size, our data showed a trend that statins may mildly enhance the anti-tumor effects of Ab {abiraterone}i in CRPC patients. These results support the findings of Di Lorenzo et al. (2017), and suggest that depletion of de novo cholesterol production may further limit androgen

ASCO Genitourinary Cancers Symposium (Hypoxia related mRNA biomarker to predict biochemical failure and metastasis)
This is very much of interest to me. PCa tumors run into trouble when they outgrow their blood supplies. Unfortunately, the cells respond to a shortage of oxygen (hypoxia) in such a way that current treatments become largely ineffective. The internet is full of bogus info. about cancer "hating oxygen

First visit in a long time.
I was diagnosed with pc in 2010. Prostatectomy at Sloan and no PSA since. My brother has not been so fortunate. Diagnosed in 2014, prostatectomy, radiation and Lupron. His PSA just went from 3 to 81 in 3 months. Cancer nodules detected in his lungs and abdomen. His oncologist at Sloan is putting him

Medical Reefer!
Do any of us use Medical Marijuana on a regular basis? What are the benefits that you see? The reason I ask. I see my Neurologist tomorrow and he has brought the possibility of using it to my attention. He will set me up with a medical card and off I go. I just wanted to get some real feedback from

Sometimes the medicine works
I met someone this weekend who told me about a friend of his who had a
radical
prostatectomy
in 1990. It didn't do the job and he soon had radiation. That didn't do the job either and he was given Lupron.

Treated Twice
My prostatectomy was in August 2011. At first PSA was undetectable but I did have positive margins at that time. Later I had radiation starting February 2017 when PSA started to rise. Doing fine now. Still bothered by ED and stress incontinence. Radiation caused unbelievable fatigue for months, but

Update after PET
On 22 Jan, the PET with Axumin isotope revealed numerous malignant lymph nodes near prostate a a few near my kidneys. I see my MO on Thursday. I see Dr Vijay Putel, a robotic surgical prostatectomy expert at a Florida Hospital on 3/31. Not sure now what my options are... already scheduled for a orchiectomy

Dad recently diagnosed
He was offered a

(Trombone trial) as he has limited metastasis but has opted not to have this. The results of his Trus biopsy were inconclusive so he was sent for a template biopsy. His Gleasons score is 8 and his staging T3N0M1.

Marijuana treatment for epilepsy
This is by way of an addendum to my earlier post on peripheral neuropathy and hemp oil. I have read in the last couple of days that a medical marijuana company in Canada is working on a treatment for epilepsy in juveniles and in trials currently under way is having some success. Still in a quandary 😐
Hello, lovely people! I'm not sure if you can help, but I don't know what to do for the best?! I posted about a month ago, I think? When I had extreme fatigue... I went back up to 5mg from 4mg & instantly felt better! But the euphoria was quite short lived 😕 About a week? I then made an executive decision

Advice please!
Hi I have had PMR for many years now and I am sure it is stress related. Almost a year ago I had to have a total hip replacement due to avascular necrosis. The femoral head had disintegrated and I am now a mix of titanium, porcelain and cement. Unfortunately the op left me with sacroilitis and the PMR
