Hello...so I'm 43 and this is my second ride on the cancer train...trying to do it all a bit differently this time: less "on my own" more...team spirit? Maybe I feel like I need a little extra support because there's been a few other curve balls recently and I'm already a bit exhausted. I've got a

A Little Prednisolone Advice Please
Good morning all. So I began my journey with PMR in July 2016, on 15mg which worked wonders. Since then I have been able to reduce down to 9mg which is where I've been for about 6 months. I have always split the dose morning and evening as I found at the beginning it wasn't lasting me 24 hours and would

Whirlwind
Hi lovely ladies. Been a whirlwind since my first post over 2 weeks ago. Ultrasound, biopsies more ultrasounds and more biopsies and an mri to boot. Upshot is I'm booked in next Wednesday for a double mastectomy. Just wondering if any of you have any advice for me as I near the op. I'm scared as hell

2 weeks post-op drainage
Hello everyone. I’m a newbie, I’m 37 and had a left breast mastectomy with lymph node dissection done 2 1/2 weeks ago. I’m still draining around 80-90 mls in a 24 hour period. Is this normal for some people or should I be concerned. I had 1 drain pulled 4 days ago and the surgeon didn’t say anything

Bitter taste - 5 m post op
Hi.. after some advice. I'm new here and 5 month post subtotal gastrectomy for benign ulceration and plyrous valve in stomach closing over. I've got about 30% of stomach left. Generally doing ok, just the usual challenges... but one thing I'm really struggling with is a bitter taste in my mouth, most

Hi everyone my name is Mona. I am new to this community but not to breast cancer. My first go round was in 2000 when I was diagnosed with a stage 2 DCIS triple negative cancer. After my limited attempts at running last week - I only managed to get out once, was determined that this week I'd be back on track with three runs. Having run (fuelled by cake, scones, pastry and Prosecco on Monday I knew that I had to run again today and Friday (as I have yet another busy weekend ahead

Leaking lymphorrhea
My MLD practitioner says that the leaking patch in breast which is engorged with lymph is lymphorrhea. I am having to change dressings on the area several times a day. 7 months after mastectomy and reconstruction, surgeons and doctors seem to have no cures or even ideas. Does anyone share this problem

Breast mastectomy and reconstruction
Hi. I’m new here though been diagnosed since 2012. I had a recent mastectomy and breast reconstruction using tummy tissue. Unfortunately my reconstruction failed and had to be removed a few days later due to issues with blood supply. Anyone else with lupus have a similar experience?

Hi, I'm Suzanne
I had a single mastectomy in January of 2015. Nothing in the lympthnodes, so was able to proceed with reconstruction. I have been taking Anastrazole since and will be for another 2 and 1/2 years. I want to connect with others on this med to compare side effects.

Help - is this right?
Hi all, I have read yesterday's comments about DEXA scans and taking AA with interest - and concern. After initial diagnosis and getting going on meds (Pred only) my GP said she didn't need to see me until I had reduced to 5mg. As time went on it was clear that this wouldn't happen in a rush and I asked

Hi guys, I made a previous post about a month ago about how my anxiety has come back for the first time in two years and I do not want to go on pharmaceutical anti-depressants again. I have been reading online and talked to my therapist about medicinal CBD oil to cope with anxiety/PTSD. I was wondering

9 months on MTX, 5 months on Enbrel. Nothing is working.
Since doctors can't seem to heal me, I'm back asking for advice here in the forum. I'm basically trying to figure out what's next for me. It's now been 9 months on MTX and 5 months on Enbrel. I feel worse than ever. Extreme all-over pain, upset stomach, depression, anxiety, etc. A brief history of my

UV lamp for Osteoporosis?
Hi, I’ve just started taking alendronic acid after being diagnosed with OP. I have been taking Adcal for years for osteopenia but fell whilst cycling fracturing both wrists hence a dexa & the resultant diagnosis. Does anyone have any experience of using a UV lamp?
