PSA
5.2. Biopsy results confirmed by MRI. I am 64 years old and will be 65 in December. I have horrible insurance with very limited treatment options. I would like to delay treatment until I have Medicare (5 months).

My brother has advanced Prostate cancer
Since then he had one more
PSA
test which came back at 17! He has CT scan and bone scan, he had some new mets on his bones(spine) and they are suspected to some lymph nodes of chest. Currently he has hormone therapy every 3 months and Nubeqa.

Latest Pylarify clear with PSA at 4
I had expected mets similar to my 1st one which was also run at a
PSA
of 4. BTW, the Axumin scan was clear at that time. I've been on an ADT/Zytiga vacation for about 18 months. My
PSA
did become undetectable for a while beforehand though.

Is it normal taking lupron shots and after awhile doesn’t work?
Writing for my husband, he had his prostate removed and after his first blood to test his
psa
, it wasn’t zero so the doctor wanted him to do radiation but he refused. Since his
psa
was raising he decided to take Lupron and at the beginning was working but his last
psa
it doubled.

BAT question. A little worried about results.
I then started Nubeqa which has kept the
PSA
at bay for another 2 years but
PSA
got up to 14 and PSMA scan showed some advancement of the mets in the abdominal nodes. I had immunotherapy (Provenge) which didn’t really do much and my
PSA
remained 14.

Does a big drop in PSA a month after the start of hormone treatment possibly represent a higher chance of cure?
Firmagon is more aggressive as it instantly blocks testosterone which likely explains why my fathers
PSA
dropped over 90% in one month.

OT calcium in the LAD on PSMA scan.
I am 56 yo s/p RARP with negative margins 1/2014, now with BCR,
PSA
.21. My urologist recommended psma scan. The scan was normal except for “calcium vs stents in the LAD”, I don’t have stents. Have you all seen this? How commonly do these scans detect other diseases?

Intake question MSKCC
Now, my twin brother presents with an elevated
PSA
, and wants to be evaluated at MSK. He calls and is told they will NOT schedule an initial visit without a PRIOR DIAGNOSIS OF CANCER (!) Has anyone heard anything like that--that MSK wouldn't do an intake for a workup?

What follows Lupron and Zytiga?
Left hip was radiated (a 2nd time) last June when
PSA
started to rise (to low numbers) after scan showed my largest tumor, located in my left acetabulum, was “active”.
PSA
returned to <.05 once again following the radiation. But- it was measurable at .05 one month ago and now .06 today.

Knee Surgery and Xtandi
Xtandi has driven my
PSA
to Undetectable <.01 so I asked him the question, will this compromise my
PSA
in any way for two weeks? He said no, it should help you to heal and to get back on your feet after surgery.

BCR Prediction?
PSA
7/2020 = <.014
PSA
1/2022 = .010
PSA
8/2022 = .014
PSA
3/2023 = .024 I realize the
PSA
is extremely low 5 years out, is not considered BCR and my
PSA
has never been very high. At diagnosis I had a knee jerk reaction and failed to properly research treatment options.
