Accuracy of PSMA PET scan?
His
PSA
at dx was 13. In the "wives" group I'm a part of, I keep hearing about men who showed no spread on PSMA scan, but went for surgery and had positive lymph nodes, bladder neck invasion, perineum etc.

PSA doubled 3 months after chemo - normal or a concern?
Bone met that was biopsied prior to chemo was
PSA
-negative, and my
PSA
had always been low despite the aggressive cancer Would appreciate your thoughts especially Tall_Allen, but all input welcome.

PSMA PET Scan????
Also pre treatment cough has returned, (was diagnosed with lung mets as well as bone and lymph node). No scans have been ordered, and seems as though they are only monitoring my
PSA
levels, and will be "Reactionary" rather than "Proactive". Never a mention of ordering a PSMA PET scan. Why is that?

Help interpreting PMSA Pet scan
In the setting of rising
PSA
, the possibility of local/marginal recurrence of prostate carcinoma should be considered. Further evaluation with contrast-enhanced MRI with particular attention to this suspicious lesion is recommended. 2.

Meeting with our oncologist for castrate resistance metastatic prostate cancer
He told me his dad's numbers (testosterone 39 and
PSA
2.8) are still pretty low and if it wasn't for the pain we would keep him on the Xtandi for a bit longer while the
PSA
increased. After Zytega he said we don't have many good options, given my dad's age (81) and frailty.

Treatment options
His
PSA
went from his initial diagnosis of 52 to under 0.03 for several months. He has Kaiser HMO and unfortunately his oncologist retired at the time his
PSA
starting trending upward. He was put on Docetaxel by the new oncologist and his
PSA
continued to rise.

Vacation from ADT
PSA
at DX of 17. After meds, nadir of <.008 for about a year. Now it is .053 last week. Still very low. He says let
PSA
go to 5-10 before starting meds again. I'm thinking 5. I would like to try a vacay. Would love to get input from you who are similar to me and have done the vacay.

PSA Test less than four weeks post surgery
He ordered
PSA
test, testosterone test, and PSMA PET scan. I have received
PSA
back this morning.
PSA
is 36.5. Urologist previously said he would wait for
PSA
because too close to surgery would be unreliable due to effects of surgery.

Xtandi vs Orgovyx
His oncologist would like him to begin taking Xtandi (4 pills per day) and Lupron shots (1 every 30 days) to lower his
PSA
level. The last
PSA
level test was conducted on August 1st (less than 2 months of meds) showing a level of 5.9.

Is it worth it?
I went to get my testosterone checked and it was slightly low but the doctor said before he prescribed T he wanted to do a
PSA
test. My
PSA
was 8, so he told me no sex or biking for 10 days and we retested and it was down to 5 which he said was still high. I'm 64.

Dental Issues with Finesteride
PSA
has been slowly rising and hit 2.8. My urologist put me on finesteride. It prevents the conversion of T to DHT. Five weeks after starting on it I experienced an onslaught of dental problems. Very sensitive teeth both top and bottom on left side.

How to find a MO Specializing in PCa
My
PSA
has slowly risen from 0.06 to 0.12 over the last 15 months or so. My medical team was surgical and now I'd like to move to monitoring with a qualified MO as my
PSA
moves upward. Where does one start to find an MO who's focused on PCa?

Failed Pluvicto
My
PSA
is now rising rapidly and scans show many new mets and growth in old ones, from skull to feet and everywhere in between. I'm in my 80's and wondering how much time and when this will get painful. I don't want any more aggressive treatments that might get me a few more months.
