Some Good News
My intro told my story, but condensed,
PSA
8.6. Biopsy 4 of 15 positive 3(3+4) (1) 3+3. PSMA yesterday, results back no metastasis found. My GP referred me to a Dr. Sidana at University of Cincinnati. Anyone have experience or knowledge of him? Also had biopsy sent to John's Hopkins.

Hi! Choices???? RADIATION or......(not radiation!) PCA, Gleason 9, mets in pelvis and (possibly more) Have had chemo 6x doxetaxel
Just finished 6 sessions of doxetaxel Last
PSA
was 0.21 I've been offered and recommended radiotherapy 6 sessions (1 a week) specifically to the prostate. I'm 50.... I don't like the sound of some of side effects. Has any one on here had radiotherapy for similar reason??? Thanks

After the 6th infusion of jevtana and carboplatin my husbands psa continues to rise.
after 6 infusions his
psa
continues to rise. In October he started out at 57 . Today it’s 67. Last scans in December showed mostly stable except for a few new hot spots on the spine. He remains fairly active. He has also had 6 pluvicto treatments last year.

Trial or not
After completing 6 rounds of docetaxel end of May 2022, I had clean scans including PSMA PET and my
PSA
was undetectable. As of my most recent tests, end of Feb, my
PSA
has already begun to rise slightly. I am just below 1.0 as of last week with increases shown 2 weeks in a row.

Newly diagnosed Prostate Cancer
My
PSA
was initially 16 (5 years after my last
PSA
which was normal). I had a retest 20 days later and it was 21 but I had gone to a different lab for the second test so, that could be reason for the difference. I am very fit and active.

Has others received treatment at MSK, how did they do
The
PSA
had gone up instead of down, the trial is plivicto so we will see what happens. Since I am over 4 hours away and the only driver I will be taking the train. Do they make some allowances for people who live some distance away ?

Off Abiraterone ?
I was expecting that this would give my
PSA
time to stabilize and hopefully go down but it has gone up slightly from about 8.4 to 8.8. Does this mean anything or is it still too early to tell?

PSA staying down--would any kind of scan be helpful?
My
PSA
was at about .08 before Xtandi and after chemo. My question; is there any value in getting a scan to see what is happening with my bone mets, or do I let well enough alone? I am very grateful that my
PSA
is staying down so far and that I feel good.

Decision Time (again)
PSA
steady 6. Age 58, otherwise healthy. Asking the group for advice, thoughts, counterpoints, etc to help me make a decision from a broad perspective from the community.

Side effects
My
PSA
has come down from 24 in January to 0.84 last Monday. I saw my oncologist on Tuesday and she gave me the option to stop all meds except the Lupron injection (I am due for my 2nd injection the first days of May) I do have to whine off the Prednisone in a two weeks period.

Supplements or vitamins that work against Zytiga
My dad was prescribed Zytiga and has been taking it for 2 months; however, it did nothing to bring down his
psa
. It saddened us that an effective medication like Zytiga didn't work on him.

NUBEQA (darolutimide) as MONOTHERAPY (no lupron or similar)?
One gent says after 7 months he’s got testosterone levels of 700 with undetectable
PSA
and no progression on scans. Another says he’s going off the casodex soon for NUBEQA. Not sure yet if they’re talking about holidays or more. Anyone else out there on similar protocol?

Please opine...
I'd like to see in clearest imagery of what's going on inside me at this point and what may be reason
PSA
is moving down so slowly.... Blessings to you all and hope you're all doing well.... 🙂

PSMA scan shows rib met
I had Gleason 7(3+4), opted for 20 sessions of IGRT,
PSA
decreased to 0.5 after RT last September and has since increased to 5.6. I also had a 3 month shot of lupron last June. Thank you for any advice.

New Oncologist recommending Pylarify PET scan. Good idea or not?
My
PSA
has been undetectable for 2 and 1/2 years. My Oncologist abruptly left Florida Cancer Specialists. The new Oncologist is suggesting a Pylarify PET scan for PSMA. My last Axumin scan in 2020 showed PC in multiple lower abdominal and bilateral pelvic lymph nodes and prostate.
