Still true that using same scan type is preferable to changing scan type?
Mr. Spouse 21, ten years since dx with Gleason 9 in 80% of cores, has only had bone and CT scans to track progression. That's how it was done in 2014. He's been stable since chemo with his current Eligard & Xgeva treatment--see full Profile for his record of Lupron, radiation, Zytiga (failed), Docetaxel

PSMA scans and radiation of oligometastases
I need some advice on a subject that I know has been covered before: PSMA scans and radiation of oligometastases. G4+5=9, RP in 2014. Positive margins, IMRT and ADT in 2015. PSA undetectable until 2019, now slowly rising at 0.40, doubling time 11 months. My questions/concerns about the scan

PSA Doubling-Time
This plot shows the Cumulative Risk of Death from All-Causes for men with prostate cancer versus Time from Negative Bone Scan (without curative treatment). The different lines show the effect of different PSA doubling times (DT), ranging from DT 15 months. The lines are essentially straight lines

PSMA PET Scan Frequency?
Hello forum members. This is my first post but have learned so much here, thanks to the contributors on this site. My husband’s last and only PSMA PET scan was 1.5 years ago showing 6 mets in small bones after PSA consistently rose a year after radiation. The standard ADT treatment was prescribed

Same medicine, different brand?
Good evening. I take a calcium channel blocker called Vera-Til SR 120mg, also known as Verapamil however, this particular brand is currently out of stock and I have been given an alternative which is Half Securon SR. My GP has advised that I always stick to one brand (Vera-Til SR) and the pharmacist

liver biopsy- what does it mean.
Oncologist doctor ordered the biopsy last year but never really explained it. He only said that the cancer was caused by the prostate cancer. Which was a good sign. Immunohistochemical stains demonstrate tumor cells are positive for NKX3.1, PSA, TTF-1 and focally for CK20, while negative for CK7

Thinking about stopping Xgeva
When my urologist suggested I see an oncologist I was immediately put on Abi and had a Dexa bone scan scheduled. That was August and scan was done Dec. In the meantime he started me on Xgeva because I had been on adt for 16 months. He agreed to 1 injection every 3 months after 6 months even though my

On treating micro-metastatic disease
I watched a video posted by PCRI recently on YouTube. In the video entitled "Treating micro-metastatic disease", Dr Mark Scholz mentioned that undergoing one year of ADT is sufficient post radiation. Thereafter just monitor the PSA for any rise, and use PSMA PET scan to locate any cancer and to radiate

Pluvicto pain
my father has undergone 3 infusions of Pluvicto. He has psma and fdg completed with no significant discordance. I understand tumour flare tends to occur within the first week after infusion but he tends to have more discomfort towards the end of the cycle. We aren’t sure if it’s bone pain or muscle

What Helps Me With Hypochondria
Like many of you, my OCD often takes the form of hypochondria. I can't tell you the number of times I thought I was dying or the number of times I went to see a doctor because of some minor symptom. I've developed some coping strategies which helped me. I thought I'd share them here. 1. No checking

Targeting Mets w SBRT- what’s your experience?
Have any of you guys had any luck targeting distant metastases with SBRT after your mets remained small or dormant while on ADT but after PSMA scans had showed more in number than olago (more than five mets)? My PSMA scan in January 2022 showed 10 scattered small mets so our area SBRT (Cyberknife) radiation
