Scientists monitor crosstalk between intestinal microbes and immune system
"Researchers have successfully 'listened in' on the crosstalk between gut microbes and the immune system. This is the first study to perform a system-wide analysis of microbial influence on a broad range of immune cells and all genes expressed in the gut". See https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2017

Rant Alert: Going Mad
This morning I've managed to sleep until 6.30. Approximately 2-3 Β½ hours longer than most mornings recently, so a good six hours or so. Iβve been wakening in the darkest pre-gloom no-manβs-land with a heart rate like that of a Grand National racehorse, running for its life and facing falling off a cliff

In my quest to have the gut of a new born baby I think I need
probiotics
. However, in the past when I've taken them my tummy gets distended and I feel very "windy". I know this is supposed to be temporary but it puts me off. Is anyone else like this and if so have you found any that have helped?

Post Brexit silence
Just wondering if there's anyone living in France (or elsewhere in Europe for that matter) who has sensed a change in attitude from their doctor since last week's vote. I have had my normal consultation and got a prescription for a changed dose of T4 post a blood test. Also got told a probiotic would

Why Fermented Food Is so Important for Health
The fiber and wide variety of beneficial bacteria (
probiotics
) found in traditionally fermented and cultured foods help protect against disease by improving your microbiome, and also help chelate harmful toxins and heavy metals from your system.

Confused B12, Folate
I read a post on the thyroid group that until B12 is high that folate should not be supplemented. Is this correct? I have had my blood tests and am waiting for GP call back following her speaking to a haematologist for advice (she is now off ill for min of 2wks) so I am supplementing with B complex

CLL w/ 17p deletion & probiotics
I'm new here, and thought I posted this earlier today but can't find it anywhere so I'll repeat it. Diagnosed SLL March 2015; diagnoses changed to CLL w/ p17 deletion Sept 2015; started treatment w/ Imbruvica end of Sept 2015. Essentially no side effects and immediate positive response. Now pretty
