The influence of the gut microbiome on prostate cancer is a fascinating new area of science that we are just beginning to understand
"Comparing microbiome profiles between the two cohorts revealed men with hormone-resistant prostate cancer had higher levels of Ruminococcus bacteria, while those responding well to ADT had high levels of Prevotella stercorea. Johann de Bono, a researcher working on the study, says one outcome from these

Kefir with raspberries and flaked almonds.
Live yoghurt and kefir are a source of
probiotics
so is worth having after a course of anti biopics as they kill all the bacteria in our guts and we need to replenish them so eating yoghurt or kefir is a great way to restore the gut bacteria and a good way to help maintain it.

Stopped: B. Longum BB536 (Morinaga) probiotic for gut related health issues (IBS) -> switched to b. infantis 35624 (Alflorex)
These
probiotics
weren't beneficial for my health symptoms. **************************** Just started, the 11th of August, with a single strain probiotic, bifidobacterium longum subsp longum BB536.

Why Probiotics?
There's a lot of interest here in the use and benefits of
probiotics
. I ran into this article from 2009 while researching the topic. It's informative and entertaining. The author is an infectious disease specialist. https://sciencebasedmedicine.org/

Probiotics : which are best for PWP and when to take them and with what to ensure survival and absorption?
Is there any consensus anywhere on when is best to take
probiotics
? I have not found a study on this. Juggling the timing of supplements,
probiotics
, and meds is very difficult.

Test results query.
So after trying
Probiotics
a while ago without any improvement, (thank you Nackapan!!) my partner ordered a hair sample test for me. It shows a Streptomyces and Thermophilus imbalance. Does this mean I should percivere with
probiotics
? Also. It shows low Vitamin A, low vitamin B1 and low Iron.

High good and bad cholesterol count, how to control this thru diet?
Would like to know if the diet to increase weight is causing concern relating to cholesterol counts for anyone here? My husband’s doctor said his good and bad cholesterol count is too high but didn’t advise what needs to be changed with his diet! We are planning to stop taking the Fortisip drink and

PS128 Probiotic
Hi Currently have my HWP on Symprove probiotic as they have been trialling that in the UK at Kings College Hospital for Parkinson’s. However there haven’t been any results. We did briefly try PS128 which I could only find in France. Having seen a very positive comment on here I wonder if he should swap

Anxious in the mornings
I’ve been taking some
probiotics
called Bio-Kult.I have one after my dinner and I don’t know if I’m imagining it but I do feel slightly better. I’m also on Amitriptyline which helps with the anxiety. In the end you get so desperate you will try anything.Good luck.

I asked her if taking
probiotics
was a good idea for me, fully expecting her to say yes. However, it was a definite no, because my gut bacteria will not be the normal mixture. We didn't continue the conversation as she was putting a needle in my arm and then needed to get on with other things.
