BP with COPD and Thyroid
I’ve been on 75 aspirin; bisoprolol 6.25mg daily; Ranolazine 375mg twice daily; and
PRALUENT
injections from when I had a stent fitted and my bp 145/78 pulse 58 which was great but my bp has gradually increased to 157/85 pulse 67 , I was on Allopurinol before stent was filled but I kept swelling up!

Value vs. Cost of Gold-Plated medicines.
Each day sees me swallow Eliquis pills at $430 for three months supply, and $189 for three months supply
Praluent
, and an incredible $30 for a pill of Orgovyx. . Yes, yes, I know, Medicare talks about a maximum out of pocket FOR APPROVED DRUGS.

PRALUENT PCSK9 inhibitor
Hi, guys. It's been a while I poped on HF I hope your all doing ok. I have question regarding cholostral lowering injections taken every fourth night. Are they good and work well, what. Are the side affects and risk factors? Thanks in advance.

NHS done good by me.
Because I was unable to control my cholesterol within acceptable levels and most of the bad stuff was made within my body, I've been given a self injection drug called
Praluent
150 mg. I inject every 14 days. It works extremely well and my lipids are now well within range of good.

Alternatives to Statins
Two have been licensed so far: alirocumab (
Praluent
) and evolocumab (Repatha). They work by blocking a protein called PCSK9, which binds to LDL receptors in the liver, stopping them from working.

Lipid Specialist
I have been seeing a Consultant specialising in Cholesterol issues for two years and have been through the treatment protocol of Statins followed by one of the new PCSK9 inhibitors (
Praluent
) Unfortunately I can’t tolerate Statins and have reacted very, very, badly to
Praluent

Praluent injections
I’ve just started
Praluent
injections as I’m intolerant to statins! After 1st injection I have chest tightness and intermittent breathlessness. I had the same with statins. Has anyone else had similar effects?

Treatment for Familial Hypercholesterolemia [FH]
I had been told by the consultant that a new drug specifically for FH was on the market (
Praluent
is one name) and the base level LDL for approval was 3.4, therefore in theory I qualified but that the panel who decide would not allow it me as my cholesterol would fall if I lost some weight and that

lipid clinic appointment
He has given me an injection called
Praluent
(alirocumab). It is reasonably new only been in the public use for 2years, trails for 8 years. I have to wait for delivery and then a nurse to show me how to do it even tho I've already got 2 pens that i self administer.

Repatha - Evolocumab
To be honest, I am worried about taking it given the issues I had with
Praluent
and am just trying to establish if I should start the injections or not.
