Anxiety getting the best of me
Hello, I have posted before about my bout with anxiety with this episode of hyperthyroid. Diagnosed about 2 1/2 months ago with my 3rd round of graves hyperthyroid. Dr suggesting I have a permanent treatment (RAI) this time. My problem is my anxiety is so bad. Started taking Xanax about 2 months

iodine
I have Hashi, high TG antibodies. My urine iodine level is 1. Optimal is 100-200. Can I take iodine without creating a flareup? I have started to take organic iodine 231 mcg with 200mcg Selenium. Thanks for your thoughts.

Thyroid scan vs Endo - who’s right?
Hello all, strange question here. I am diagnosed hypothyroid and take euthyral (a combo pill t3/t4) as prescribed by my old endo, and everything is ok in that area. However, my old endo is unavailable and I am seeing someone new. I find some of her statements already very strange/questionable and would

I already use Foligain shampoo/conditioner and am finding new little hairs growing back, only fine ones but they are there. Today I was reading the reviews for these supplements and they were all practically 5*. Looking at the ingredients they do contain iodine which I know we hypo’s aren’t supposed

Years of M.E but doctor won't prescribe Thyroxin
Hi, After years of chronic fatigue and blood tests that seem to indicate thyroid as normal, I am at the end of my tether. I've tried all sorts of supplements (Ashwarganda, high iodine such as Kelp) which helped a bit bu the slumps into fatigue, brain fog, muscle pain. legs burning in the morning always

Agony after injection-Remedy
I am in unbearable pain after every injection for wet AMD in left eye. I understand I am allergic to the iodine they must use during the procedure. The inside of my eyelid feels like sandpaper and the injection site is like a stone that scratches my eye every time I blink. I have tried every painkiller

Vietnam War Veteran USAF
Diagnosed with CLL in 2012, but just within the last 6 months found out it could be due to my exposure to Agent Orange while stationed at Ubon RTAFB, Thailand during the War from 1973 to 1974. Filled a VA Disability Compensation Claim 03/30/2018, but still waiting a decision on my claim. I am CLL Rai

Why do I even bother talking to doctor
Ok today I went to see the doctor re painful joints, naturally he got the subject around to me losing weight, I told him after having RAI 15 years ago I went up to this size and have stayed this size no matter what eating habits I change, then I informed him all about the benefits of adding T3 with Levo

Underactive thyroid post iodine treatment for graves disease
Hi I'm new to this but I feel it would be good to know how other people manage their underactive thyroid. I was over active 8 years ago then had iodine treatment for graves I'm now underactive have been for about 5 years. I can honestly say I don't feel much different to what I was when I was over active

What dose of iodine is recommended for those with hypothyroid?
What dose of iodine is recommended for those with hypothyroid? I don't consume any salt so need to supplement iodine. I have seen recommendations for extremely high amounts of daily iodine, and also for none at all. thanks

Prolonged Duration of Hashitoxicosis in a Patient with Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis: A Case Report and Review of Literature
Distinguishing between Graves and Hashimoto's is important but we do see quite a few questionable diagnoses here. Important to note the mildly elevated TSI in this case. Good to see a case handled with subtlety and, apparently, sympathy. [i]Cureus. 2018 Jun; 10(6): e2804. Published online 2018 Jun

Undetectable Serum Iodine levels???
I just got my labs back which said I have "undetectable (serum) iodine? I keep hearing how the only method to test is through urine, but because of my experience in the past with a high dose iodine attempt, that petrifies me! It had been in the upper 20s for a year or more, but it has not dropped to
