It's weekly chat time! 25th February - 3rd March 😊 😊 😊
I got sidetracked yesterday evening watching Mountain: Life at the Extreme on BBC2, would recommend if only for the bits about Mira Rai (though the other elements were very good too!). That's her there in the picture, she's a Nepalese ultra runner. Here's some blurb I lazily copied and pasted: [i]Mira

Odd symptom - concerned
Hi, I'm new here! Anyone have dairy alternatives? I've recently started to get hot flashes, especially at night. Been reading up about comparisons between dairy and non dairy for nutritional content; all non dairy alternatives are usually fortified with calcium and B12 (in the UK as standard) but not

Can Graves be controlled...How can I help my mum?
So I have a question that keeps whirling around in my head. Is Graves controllable? My 65 year old mother is having her second episode of severe symptoms in 18months. Diagnosed with Graves in 2015, confirmed with positive test for TRAb, she has been on Carbimazole ever since. Her endo is disinterested

Drops to dilate the eyes
Hi all, just wondered if anyone has had a reaction to the drops they use for dilating the eye? I seem to have a very painful reaction and my eyes went very red, couldn’t see to find my seat in the clinic too well, following this I can hardly tolerate the lights they use to examine my eyes. Later feeling

Problems taking Levothyroxine
This is my first post and I need help! To cut a long story short, I had RAI treatment for a multi nodular goitre in March 2018 and by July 2018 my TSH was 5.2 so the Endo passed me on to the care of my Doctor suggesting I started levothyroxine 50mgs as I was symptomatic. Eventually rising to 100 mgs

A Case of Violent Suicide Attempt in a Context of Myxedema Psychosis following Radioiodine Treatment in a Patient with Graves' Disease

Graves Disease problems
Hi...I am new on here. I was diagnosed with Graves Disease about 10 years ago. They believed I had actually had it for about 4 to 5 years prior to being diagnosed because my symptoms were severe. I had radioactive iodine treatment done which my endocrinologist was confident my thyroid was destroyed

Update on Eylea treatment
Last year I was diagnosed with a type of wet macular degeneration in my left eye. I dont see perpendiculars as wavey but I do have a small grey area below central vision and within that area objects are not too clear. I had 7 Eylea injections over the year the last one at the begining of Oct 2018. A

First blood test since changing to NDT.
Good morning, I wonder if I might have some feedback on my recent results. I am with Graves Disease diagnosed 2003 and RAI thyroid ablation 2005. I started self medication with Natural Desiccated Thyroid in November 2018. I am currently on 1+1/2 at 4.00 am in the morning. I feel good, and my intention

Weight loss - is it possible?
Any help on losing weight? I had rai a year ago and since then have piled on tons of weight. Gp still struggling to get my levo right. At the moment I've just been upped to 175 levo again (still feel dreadful I'm sure my weight gain isn't helping physically or mentally). I'm trying to eat sensibly but

Hi gang, sharing this great article in regards to foods that may affect hypothyroid. I am taking Liothyronine with a lot of ups and downs and suspected the foods I am eating are affecting my absorption. Hope it can help you too!! https://www.everydayhealth.com/hs/thyroid-pictures/foods-to-avoid/
