Update on thyroid results and advice on hair loss
I really want to get a handle on this, if there is indeed a thyroid problem that is causing hair loss. Never had hair loss until after menopause. My TSH and T4 numbers from seven years ago until I started measuring the full panel in the last three years always hovered around TSH 1-2 and T4 1. Before

CT scan
I need to have a ct scan which involves the injection of iodine. I also have hashimotos. Does any of our community have any suggestions as to how I can reduce any side effects from the iodine. I don’t know if it will affect me at all. Cancelling the CT scan is a much greater risk .

PD and iodine deficiency?
Came across the following article today and not sure what to think of that - would appreciate PD veterans opinions on Magnesium/Iodine supplementation as recommended in the article. I believe that magnesium is crucial for many metabolic pathways, however there are potential serious risks associated

Iodine in food
Is it ok to eat / drink foods rich in iodine while on levothyroxine? I know the dangers of supplementing it. Thanks :)

re iodine controversy
Dear people. My child had be advised to take iodine and zinc rethyroid issues for a while and some homeopathic stuff. I think due to health blood results he cannot be treated as yet with hormones but the doctor he saw agreed that he had thyroid issues and pointed out the loss of eyebrows. I have just

what do i do next after borderline hypothyroid results?
Where do I go from here? What do I do next please? Feeling very down, exhausted, anxious and frustrated tbh. 1) Should I get reverse T3 tested? 2) If my free t3 is middle of range does it matter that my free t4 is on the low borderline? 3) Have my two normal antibody test results ruled out Hashi

Terrified before third eyelear injection
My third eyelear injection is scheduled for Thursday and I am already a bag of nerves. Its not the actual injection itself (although this is painful its very short lived) its the following days of excruciating writhing pain for the following 48hrs I'm finding difficult to cope with. The response from

Tsh result.
Having had Graves’ disease since 2003. Refused RAI treatment so took a maintenance dose of 5mg carbimazole which was stopped last summer and have had symptoms of joint pain, weight gain, plantar fasciitis, and tingling limbs. Recent tsh result is3.49. I asked for my t4 but endo states that tsh is normal

Brownstein book "iodine why you need it why you can't do without it"
Just read it now. Some very sobering facts - they are summarised over the web so anyone interested can google. I am taking solgar 200mcg sea kelp daily for past 2 weeks and feel incredibly positive about sticking with this. I do take it with plenty sea salt and 200 mcg selenium. I will retest my bloods

Full of questions?
Do you get a flu shot? And how does it affect you and your thyroid? Also curious what everyone thinks of taking iodine supplements and selenium. And one last one, what's your thoughts on fluoride treatment from dentist? I was on Synthroid for over 30 years...never really ever felt good...but never knew

One week after TT and lymph node removal
Well here I am on the other side of my surgery, 5 months from seeing my Gp about my swollen lymph nodes. A six hour op waved goodbye to my Thyroid and all the anterior lymph nodes on the right side. Now swollen and sore, black and blue with a wound starting behind my right ear and finishing at my left

New to NDT and help with blood test results please
I have finally seen a private doctor and got a private prescription for NDT (West Thyroid make). I was previously on a dose of 75mg Levothyroxine and they have given me the eqivalent in West Thyroid. I have been taking it for 1 week and feel worse and energy levels are extremely low. Do I need to allow

Am I on the right dose of levo?
I was hyperthyroid and had RAI in April 17', this has made me go hypothyroid and in June I was put on 50mg of levothyroxine. My latest blood results are TSH less than 0.005 and T4 12.6. Should I still be on 50mg Levo?

Overactive
Hi my names Rachael and I have been suffering from on overactive thyroid for most of my teenage years since about the age of 14 (I'm 18 now) I've always suffered with tiredness from the very beginning and as a result I missed a very large percent of my attendance in the last two years of high school
