Lymph nodes under ear
Today I woke up with the lymph nodes under my ear enlarged. They have been enlarged for a while but today they are a bit bigger and very tender. I got my flu shot and pneumonia shot on Monday, do you think that has anything to do with it? I am not on any treatments. Still w&w. Thank you! Mary

Flu vaccine and shielding household members
Just a heads up to alert folk that at least in England and Scotland household other members of shielding households are supposed to be able to get the flu vaccine from the NHS now. My husband (healthy, aged 49) had his today here in Scotland. I (vasculitis patient) got done two weeks ago, as did my 85

Flu shot
I had my flu shot yesterday and today I feel really ill. Has anyone else found this? I am 3 months into b12 injections .. on and off but currently injecting 100mcg cyano every other day. A lot of my symptoms were so much better until today and I feel like I’ve gone backwards 😕

Reaction to the flu jab.
I wondered if anyone has had a reaction to the flu jab. I must have had about 16/17 in the past of which at least three or four must have been when I was on steroids with my first bout of PMR. Before that I have had them at work when I was nursing. Never a reaction and hardly a sore arm. This time

Flu jab if you are in remission?
I have looked over the various flu jab posts and see that the advice is to definitely get it! Is your advice any different for someone who is in remission? I have been off prednisone (for PMR) about 18 months. I have never had a flu jab because I luckily do not get the flu. I am very concerned that

Flu jab and blood thinners
My son (35) has just had his flu jab and was asked if he was taking blood thinners - not something I've ever been asked before. A quick search found that problems have occurred previously with patients taking warfarin, but I cannot find any reference to other blood thinners (I'm on clopidogrel) or if

Total thyroidectomy and the flu jab
Hi, I am 60 years old, I had a total thyroidectomy 2 years ago because of a substernal goitre and take Levothyroxine. When I contacted my GP practice to arrange my very first flu jab, the receptionist told me that my profile hadn’t flagged up on their system and therefore I wouldn’t be getting an invite

No flu jabs available
I just went to the doctors to get my flu jab. They said that there were no flu jabs available for anyone under 65 even with pre existing health conditions, this is by government orders. I checked this out with several local pharmacies and it is correct. I am 60 with COPD, I feel like I am being thrown

A step toward a universal flu vaccine.
Each year, the flu vaccine has to be redesigned to account for mutations that the virus accumulates, and even then, the vaccine is often not fully protective for everyone. Researchers at MIT and the Ragon Institute of MIT, MGH, and Harvard are now working on strategies for designing a universal flu

Treatment done🙏🏼🙏🏼 With a smile
Bloods were good so was given my injection of Denosumab, Ibrance and Letrozole. Saw a really lovely nurse today who made me feel human. We laughed and swapped notes on apple crumble recipes. Was a pleasure. I told her I had lost a crown but she was happy for me to see what my dentist says. I asked about

Just Introducing myself
Hi All, Happy to be here but not, as I'm sure you all get. Seems like a very supportive community which is lovely. I care for my husband who was diagnosed with probable MSA in 2017. Symptoms started occurring in 2014. So its been a weird one in the sense that for ages we weren't sure whether it was

Flu jab????
Hi, I have Lupus SLE and usually don't have a flu jab, as in the past it has always caused flare ups, but due to covid I'm wondering whether to have one this year and suffer the flare, as I do realise if I was unfortunate to get flu and covid i would be in trouble. Just wondering if anyone has experienced
