OK.. three weeks ago was diagnosed with Hepatitis C which i could have contracted from a blood transfusion 50 years ago or a brief period of drug use 40 years ago. Last chemo delayed
Hello Ladies, I was looking forward to getting my last chemo but, alas, it did not happen. My bloods were at 7.8 so I had to have a transfusion. I think we all agree that it's just so draining sitting in the one attitude for so long, but that's the way it has to be. I actually feel a lot better than

Help with blood tests.
Hi I have been following the forum for a while now and hope that someone will be able to help. I am not sure why but my TSH has been intermittently checked from 2003 onwards and has always been around 2 (1.16-4.2) At the beginning of this year it was again checked as part of hypertension screening and

So I've been on steroids for just over 2 months now and my platelets are no higher than they got after a couple of weeks on them, so last week I was still at only 21 and taking 50ml of steroids so now I'm on immunosuppressants and 40ml of steroids! But I've already noticed a lower appetite which is good

As I sit down to write this, having just been for my Flu jab, I realise how quickly time has gone by. Another year heading by. If you are new to CLL then have a look at Nick’s post about flu jabs: https://healthunlocked.com/cllsupport/posts/132460907/cll-patients-and-families-dont-forget-your-flu-vaccination

NAFLD to NASH to finding out the exact cause - where to go from here...
Hi Everyone, I'm new to the forum and am eager for any advice given :) . I have recently had a scan done by the Perspectum Study in Oxford which showed a 17% fatty liver, normal iron and a very/100% looking red inflamed liver which was marked very high red on their graph. From my talk with the team

Extremely heavy menstrual bleeding after progesterone. Is all hope lost?
Hi ladies. I'm writing partly for advice and partly for others who might experience this. I had 1st lap 5 months ago. Started taking progesterone 2 months later for one month only then stopped because I wanted to have a baby. I had one normal period right away then nothing for 7 weeks (endless bfns).

Blood test results.
Friday, I was at my 3 monthly blood count appointment. Been going there since 2012, every 3 months too keep an eye on my hemoglobin, iron and full blood count. All good and not drifting down, had a hemoglobin, iron blood transfusion back in January this year and I'm still stable. Need a blood transfusion

Iron levels
I am wondering if my Parkinson's was caused by 2 iron transfusions I had around 5 years ago, with my first symptons appearing (in retrospect) around 4 years ago. Has anyone else had issues with iron levels that have required treatment?

Feeling down and a little scared. I just got my blood results back from yesterdays draw and my platelets plummeted down to 44. My hemoglobin is now below 8. Explains why I have been a little tired lately. Could hardly get much done at work yesterday, I went and had my blood draw and my port started
