Kidney transplant recipient
Hi I’m 23 year old who suffers from CKD. I was born with small kidneys and as my body grew my kidneys did not. When I was 10 I was but on peritoneal dialysis until I got my first kidney transplant when I was 13. That kidney lasted for 4 years and I was put back on dialysis. I had my second transplant

Blood transfusions dependent/clinical trials.
Hello, I have been blood transfusion dependent for the past year. I go on a weekly basis. My family and I have been to both Dana-Farber in Boston, and most recently Sloan Kettering in Westchester, New York. Sloan has said that I am in eligible for any clinical trials due to my dependency on blood

MF low risk to intermediate
Hi fellow MPN'ers, After 21 years, my time of low risk primary myelofibrosis has come to an end. In the middle of last year my haemoglobin level was 104g/L and now it is 88, moving me from the low risk category to the intermediate risk category. The drop in haemoglobin level has been quite noticeable

NHS Endo appointment Nottm yesterday (Thurs), disgusted!!
My endo appointment did not go well yesterday. My first appointment in October was with Registrar, but this time it was with the main man in endocrinology in Nottingham, he was rude, ignorant, arrogant and did not listen to anything I was saying. He said with my results he would not be seeing me again

My sister
My sister went into hospital last night as she wouldn’t stop bleeding from her nose. She is getting a blood transfusion for very low playlets and antibiotics for infection. I just wonder if this can turn around as she looks awful and keeps saying she can’t go on.

Not sure where we go from here
My 28 year old son is in hospital waiting for a liver biopsy has extremely distended stomach and they have said he has a cirrhosis of the liver ... I’m angry as he hasn’t touched a drink or drug in his life 😩 He had emergency admission in December where he was treated for acute gallbladder infection

Im currently on my third cycle of chemo due to the bugger coming back again after only 10 months of it being dormant whilst on Letrozole.I'm on Carbo / Gem having it day 1 & then day 8. Desperate for help
This is my first time here, I'm desperately hoping someone relate to my story and might be able to advise. I'm 35 and problems started when I was 15. I'd never heard of Endometriosis until feb 2016 when I went to the doctors in desperation. As soon as she described it I knew I had it. Had to wait til

Kidney issue

Plaquettes (Platelets) very low again.
Hi girls, My blood test arrived this morning and the platelets count is now down to 43 g/l (43,000 /mm3). It was 60 last week and 94 the week before, so coming down quite a bit each week. No chemo again yesterday and another scheduled for next Wednesday, fortunately. It should have been my last yesterday

What is happening?
Hello!! I had terrible 2 days. Our doctor couldn't continue with RB theraphy because my husbands HGB counts only 5. They started to blood transfusion and made a Bone Marrow biopsy. The doctor said he has to find the reason of this low HGB, maybe the CLL has transformed to something else. We have to

“Yay I’m finally out of hospital!!”
After the last post of Bev in hospital basically learning to walk again - she was in rehab for 2 1/2 weeks - and came home this week. She has continued her exercise regime but after the 90 minute hospital rehab sessions in the morning and afternoon - she's taking it a bit easier at home. Still going
