Severely anaemic.
After seeing my GP on Thursday following 23 days of flooding (aged 56) I had blood taken on Friday at 10:15am expecting my results available online by Monday or Tuesday next week. Five hours later a partner at the practice called me to say the hospital had called my results straight through as my haemaglobin

So I had my blood test and it’s confirmed that we’re not pregnant. We’re shattered but I wasn’t too hopeful considering the stress I’ve been under for the last month. My OH’s surgery went okay. It was an incredibly long morning waiting for a call from the surgeons, especially when it went for nearly

Does mum need to go into hospital
Mum's care home have just rung my sister to say the Doctor has visited and her haemagloblin levels are low and she should go into hospital for a blood transfusion. She's 87, dementia, diabetes angina to name a few health issues, so as a family should we let her go into hospital for a blood transfusion

My father is being treated with ibrutinib for mantle cell lymphoma. His platelets are very low and don’t pick up after transfusion. They have stopped his 4 tablets/day of ibrutinib as he now has an infection. Has anyone else experienced this?

After 18 weeks of chemo
Hi all - last week I completed 18 consecutive weeks of Taxol (and carbo every 3rd week). I took booster shots each week for white count; had a transfusion for red; and drank daily cup of papaya leaf tea with addition of papaya extract for platelets. Now I am focusing on blood counts improving to where

My mom has HCC
I want to share my mom’s fight against HCC, she got Hepatitis C through a blood transfusion when she was only a teenager, she had successfully gone through very harsh treatments to kill the hepatitis C virus in her late 60s and has been virus free and able to enjoy life for couple of years afterwards

Begging for help
Hi, I’m 33 and from Melbourne, Australia I have always been the sick kid for as long as I can remember. At age 18 months I was diagnosed with severely low playlets and required transfusions. Luckily this rectified as I got older. Growing up I had asthma, allergies, hay fever and allergies to animals
