Experience, thus far with Lupron and Abiraterone
I am 78 years old. I was diagnosed in May 2022 with PCa after my PSA was measured at 23.79. I have no other health issues. Following the determination that PCa was still within the prostrate capsule and had not spread to any other organ, I was placed on Lupron (6 monthly IM injections for 2 years). Clinically

WHAT ARE THE CURRENT EFFECTIVE SALVAGE TREATMENTS IN CASE OF A REOCCURRENCE IF YOU HAVE HAD SBRT,IMRT, WITH PLACEMENT OF GOLD BARS?
It appears that if you had SBRT or like myself IMRT and you were given
gold markers
you cannot do any of the following
salvage treatments in case of a reoccurrence
: Proton therapy, Hifu, Tulsa Pro , Etc. Is this true???? Again a significant fact left out before treatment...

Newly diagnosed metastatic PC treatment options
Hi, I'm 68 years old. Here are the key points in my story so far: In July 2023 a blood test showed a PSA value of 45. On September 26 2023, prostate MRI showed a dominant tumor in the prostate with extension into the right seminal vesicle. Also the fat plane between the rectum and prostate is lost

Proton Therapy timeline question
For those who have had proton therapy, what was your timeline? What period of time elapsed after you began ADT and had the simulation? And then, how long after that did the actual therapy begin? I've been reading and can't seem to determine a timeline, other than one guy wrote that he had the simulation

low back problems
I've been on Eligard and abiraterone+prednisone for slightly more than a year, out of a planned 2 years. I had 44 sessions of proton beam therapy ending 4/7/23. My PSA has been undetectable since early in my ADT regimen, and remained so as recently as 2 weeks ago. I began to have low back pain, sometimes

treatment and insurance questions
gleason 4+3=7 (70% pattern 4) involving one core less than 0.5mm. PSA 5.2. Biopsy results confirmed by MRI. I am 64 years old and will be 65 in December. I have horrible insurance with very limited treatment options. I would like to delay treatment until I have Medicare (5 months). I have met with

Specialty to start with?
Originally joined group because 55 yr son diagnosed with stage 4 PCa. Been tracking my own PSA for a few years and it is now 18.5. Due to this group and other reading I am pretty well versed in treatment alternatives. I am 77 and if I do any treatments I would lean toward proton therapy. I had an

Maca Root Supplement
I finished Proton Therapy for Gleason 9 Prostate cancer on December 2, 2022. This included six months of androgen deprivation therapy that ended December 15, 2022. Is there any danger to my prostate if I begin taking Maca Root supplement?

better options
Have lost faith and patience with husband's current docs, they are now contradicting each other.I have enough airline points we can fly for free anywhere in us so I'm looking what would be best hospital /treatment center that has multiple treatment protocols where we can learn about treatments like Proton

Compounding pharmacy in UK for allergy medicines
I have multiple allergies and the only commercially available
Piriton
contains either peppermint oil or lactose you would think they would make allergy medicines without known allergens in them!

PSMA scan results just arrived but interpreting them is difficult and no Onc telmed available until next week. Orgovyx failed two months ago
Any idea what this means or suggestions? Study Result Impression 1. Previous prostatectomy with no F-18 PSMA evidence of local recurrence or 2. Two F-18 PSMA avid presumed bone metastases, one in the right posterior third rib and the other in the left anterior T4 vertebral body. 3. No other F-18
