New to this group
Hi, I joined this group around a year ago, but then found I didn't want to discuss FM as it was dragging me down at the time. I have logged on today and really found a benefit in reading and contemplating some of the posts, and have even managed the odd comment, so I thought I would post something myself

Thanks for being there for me
Hi all I’ve burnt my keyboard and melted it for all the chatting this weekend. Would just like to say hi and thank you to the ppl on here and the new ppl I chatted with yesterday. I’m all ready for a new year. I’m going to make it great not because anything will be better than what I’ve had to endure

Looking for a rheumatologist with an open mind.
Hello all, thanks for your informative posts and I wish you all a happy 2021. I am looking for a recommendation for a rheumatologist who has an open mind when it comes to PMR. I'll try and keep it as short as possible. I am 72 and in March I started suffering from pain and stiffness, from the knees up

Phantom Pain
I had never heard of phantom pain before my BKA (below knee amputation). But boy I know about it now! Talking to fellow amputees at the Limb Fitting Centre and Amputee Physio I seem to be suffering particularly badly compared to many. It's now nearly five months since the amputation and although I suffer

Suffering from body pain
I searched online for some solutions and came to know about in-home
physiotherapy
treatments( https://www.physiomobility.com/home-health-care/). I'm thinking about trying it as I hope it can reduce my pain. Has anyone tried in-home
physiotherapy
? Was it effective? Kindly share your opinions.

Cross Trainer
Hi Guys and Merry Christmas. After damaging my ligaments in my right ankle back in April I haven’t been able to run at all. My physio has given me some exercises and recommended cycling and/or a cross trainer. Has anyone on here done the C25K on a cross trainer? Thank you. Mark.

Home with new hip!
Hello everyone- wishing you all a Merry Christmas and Bonne Année. I am back from the clinic with my new hip. I had my op last Wednesday and came home Monday. The surgeon told me he had had a hard time getting even the smallest prothesis in as I have such little bones and now my right leg is slightly

Sooo weary....
Anyone got any advice on how to deal with sciatic pain that's now running across my back and up too?? I've been suffering for 7 months now and only recently been referred for an mri. Which could be nine months! I've been doing stretching, had physio weekly for 3 months and it's getting worse not better

Back ache
Hi, thanks for all your replies, Just to keep you updated I have had a second phone call from the physio, told her it seemed worse. She won't send me for a scan or x ray but has given me a face to face appointment on the 19th January Also told me to ring Doc and see about trying different pain killers

Weight Bearing on Prothesis
Some of you will know I had a BKA (below knee amputation) at the end of July. I picked up my prosthetic leg in mid-October but immediately hit problems with the wound reopening and blistering. After seven weeks without physio I started weekly sessions last week. One major problem I have is that I cannot

ITBS Recovery
Hi, I’ve suffered from ITB syndrome since I ran a marathon in 2016 and would like to know - has anyone ever got over it? I have had - dozen physio sessions and followed different programmes. Having taken a year off from running, I’ve just started the Couch to 5K. If there’s anyone out there who’s recovered

Off Actemra
Ended up in ER with severe stomach pains. Though I have esophagus problems I never had that kind of pain in my stomach. It was gastritis. Rheumatologist said okay to go off Actemra, but not sure if that's the cause. Although Actemra is contraindicated for people with gastrointestinal problems. I'm

Turbomed AFO and Cubii exerciser
Has anyone tried the Turbo Med Afo. Having spoken to a local neuro physio he recommends it but it isn't cheap. He has also recommended the Cubbi elliptical exerciser. (Available from Argos in the UK)

A success story
Really proud of myself today and I’m here to brag I’m afraid - look away now if that’s going to demotivate or annoy you! I started my couch to 5k journey in 2013.... tried it a few times, quit around week 5 each time. Started it again in June 2020 following a few months of feeling very sorry for myself

I really wish I'd found this earlier!
Hi, I've done pretty well 'recovering' from most PCS symptoms. My health authority are in crisis management and lack many of the basic services. You can get, with an almighty fight, a neurology assessment and a neuropsychology assessment but that's it. There is absolutely nothing else, no sensory testing
