TBH a recent artery scan that confirmed my heart was in decent condition eased my concerns of having a heart attack,so I pushed on. Though wk1 got my lungs

Bursitis /Arthritis hip area - any advice?
Well I couldn't be lower than a snake's belly (as the saying goes!). Following 4 weeks of a stubborn, debilitating cold virus (not covid), I had the onset of pain on outer edge of hip that has got so bad I couldn't sleep. I've had to take prescribed painkillers which are helping me through the night

I hope you all had a nice Christmas and I wish you a Happy New Year. I was sent this link by a friend (after being very ill again this week) and found it very interesting because as you know Antiphospholipid patients often have Microclots. The BBC interview (link in the text) described how I feel to

Hi everyone, Happy New Year. I’m pleased to say, I managed to stay at 0mg Pred over Christmas and am still there. I did have stinking cold which started on Boxing Day and lasted until New Year’s Day but other than that ok. I still have muscle weakness and start physio next week. I received a call

Injury has destroyed my progress
I completed the couch to 5k about a year ago. Since then, I'd made such good healthy habits and was exercising regularly. A few months back I fell and I've damaged my knee. I couldn't exercise without having to put my feet up for a day or two. Now, I've put the weight back on and have lost all my progress

Week 3 Run 1 in the Mud, Rain and Snow
The physio gave me a new set of strengthening exercises yesterday, that shouldn't hurt my back. More importantly he gave me the OK to continue with C25K. In fact he said it was a brilliant way of getting back into running again. 😁 It's been raining all morning, still raining come my lunchbreak and a

Simponi and regular headaches?
Hello all, I'm Huguen, the new kid here (well I'm 43). I'll introduce myself.... After debilitating hip and lower back pain I was diagnosed with Ankylosing Spondylitis in 2001. In about 2013 I was prescribed Humira, which was very harsh on my immune system, and later swapped onto Simponi which I think

Is there any way of getting home help for my husband who has decompensated liver and is struggling with nutrition and has lost weight?
We need a part time carer in Buckinghamshire, some physical therapy as he has really declined and I am the sole breadwinner . What is available through gp/ social service? Any help from liver trust? I’m struggling to cope.

Any advice greatly appreciated🙏
Apologies for the long post. Hope everyone had a good Christmas and best wishes for a happy & healthy New Year head. Has anyone undertaken a three week residential pain management course in Bath? Am I right in thinking that it is primarily physio and psychology based and is there any medication input

Lung clearing devices
It seems I have cryptogenic organising pneumonia, and have just stared prednisolone, but having trouble clearing mucus. Does anyone have experience with Air Physio or Revitive Aerosure devices, please.

My 2021
By the beginning of November 2020, I'd established a routine of three short easy runs each week plus a long run which alternated between an HM one week and something longer the next. This gave me a good solid base going into 2021. With that in mind, I decided to attempt the 45 mile Green Man Ultra in

So Near Yet So Far: Or My Running Year
I started 2021 on a roll off the back of the HU Winter Speed Challenge, Group 2020 Distance Challenge, and (rather lame on my part) attempts at festive Strava art. I signed up for LEJOG, with the crazy hope that I might complete it -running and walking – by my birthday in July. Taking part in the COGH

Quadratus lumborum, back and hip pain
I have been in and out of
physiotherapy
for years for problems with my right quadratus lumborum muscle (attaches bottom of ribs to top of hip). The only time it has completely stopped hurting in 5-6 years was after bowel prep for my colonoscopy when I was completely "empty".
