Painkillers for nerve pain / side effects
I am a 71 yo male with PAF / exercise induced AF, which doesn’t overly affect me too much. I am fairly active and a regular cyclist. Recently I have been suffering with a trapped > irritated Femoral Nerve in my Left leg. This is quite painful at times and keeps me awake at night. I have been attending

Long term survivor/ denier
Hi, 40 years ago I took a fall out of a window, landing 30 feet below- resulting in a period of unconsciousness, various broken bones, including my skull, pre and post-accident amnesia. I had to learn to walk, talk and learn to live again. I received excellent acute care in Wales before being transferred

Total knee replacement. Looking for advice, guidance and wisdom.
I have a few concerns about my upcoming Total Knee Replacement surgery and would really appreciate hearing from those who have already been through this. Main concerns. 1. Does this major joint surgery impact negatively on CLL? Thats big issue. Currently in post FCR remission. 2. What may I reasonably

(Happy) physio time again 🙂
I had to settle for a 10k run on Tuesday. I felt pain in my right calf and achilles, and with the GSR coming up a week on Sunday, I decided to get it checked out. Good news is that it is just tightness in the calf which is causing pain in the achilles; there is no actual achilles damage. Physio thinks

Fed up with this anal pressure and discomfort
Hi everyone I’m in UK . I have been suffering intermittent constipation since March ( normally I am regular) . This started off about 2-3 weeks after starting Vagifem, taking antibiotics, and doing kegel exercises. My first thought was the antibiotics disrupted my gut ( did take probiotics ) and it

Virtual London Marathon
Hi everyone, as some of you know I entered the virtual London Marathon today. As the forecast wasn’t good for the morning, I decided to set off shortly after midnight to avoid the worst of the weather👍 My route took me up onto the Bognor Regis bypass, which appears to be used as a racetrack in the

immune reaction to physical stress.
I have poly myalgia, celiac and PCOS as well as myeloma, so my immune system gets upset pretty easily. Yesterday, a Physio manhandled my body to see how much I could move. I have chronic back pain. Today, my back is in spasm, I feel as if fighting flu and my digestion is out. Coukd thus be an immune

PMR returns, probably never away
Hi, I haven’t posted for a while, brief history I was diagnosed with PMR about a year ago, although my markers were normal, seen a Rheumatologist and my two GPs decided it wasn’t PMR, I was on about 10 mg of prednisolone at the time. I still had severe back and leg pain, was put on every painkiller

Hello awesome runners. (*hides behind sofa*) it’s me again 🙄 I promise you that the other admins haven’t run away and will be back shortly. We’ve just had a little hiatus in our rotas but normal service shall be resumed very soon. In the meantime, let’s talk about how our week has gone.

NO END IN SIGHT
Last month, I was officially diagnosed with seronegative autoimmune brainstem encephalitis, which can recur and in a similar manner. How fun. My neuro-immunologist also ordered more outpatient therapies for me because I’m “not getting better.” After I waited a month for the first physical therapy appointment

Interesting effect of NDT. Anyone else experienced this??
i've been on NDT since July. Gradually building up towards 2 grains. Currently on 1.5 as a split dose -- 1 grain in the morning, 1/2 as I go to bed. The night time dose was only added since end Aug. I've had dreadful back pain at night. Usually about 4 hours after taking NDT and about 3 hours sleep

Anxiety and Feeling Safe
On Monday I was sitting in my bedroom with my cats. I was playing on my switch and was ready to go to physical therapy in a few hours. All of a sudden I felt so much anxiety and panic that I didn't even want to leave my bedroom. It was hard to even think about walking out that door. I don't know what

Temporary pause (hopefully)
Following a persitant niggle in my left adductor and in my right heel, a physio has now diagnosed the issues. As well as strengethening exercises for adductor and gel inserts for my impending heel spur, we ‘compromised’ on no running for 2 weeks (at least). I know I’m not evenly balanced when walking
