Pernicious Anemia and Endicrine
I was diagnosed with B12 deficiency in the spring of 2021. I was initially placed on a regimen of B12 injections appropriate for patients with blood symptoms. Eventually I read enough to discover the difference in treatment for patients with blood symptoms vs nerve symptoms, and since August of 2021

I know my B12 is dire - I’m hoping I can now ask for testing for
pernicious
anaemia
. Unfortunately my iron wasn’t run so I will buy a kit for that.

on Saturday night I felt dreadful like I did when the doctor refused to give me my B12 for my

anaemia
but the strange think was my blood pressure kept going up to over 200/90. I was really scared and rang 111 and of course I got someone who hadn’t a clue about B12 deficiency.

As has been discussed here, and pointed out by Martyn Hooper (founder of the

Subacute thyroiditis and sub clinical hypothyroidism

I'm now it seems in the hypothyroid phase of this horrible illness ( subacute thyroiditis is like the gift that keeps on giving!) after becoming ill in October with

How to get a referral to an endo for central hypothyroidism?
I asked her to get tested for
pernicious
anaemia
, the result of which initially came back as borderline so she had to be tested again and then it came back negative so PA has been ruled out.

Advice on below range TSH, low ferritin, poor absorption and current dosage

Preservatives in B12 injections - does frequency matter?
Hi all, I'm hoping for some insight about what effect the preservatives in different B12 injections have (or don't have) on us. I know I've heard some members of the PAS from the U.S. talk about the hydroxocobalamin administered in the States as having a lot of parabens, with the insinuation that they

Exhaustion
Is exhaustion just something we have to put up with if you have PA? I’m SI Hydroxocobalamin twice a week with folate supplements , in between getting it from my GP every 2 months. I’m taking a B complex with 5 mg of B6. Potassium is fine, ferritin on the up 65 but I’m still taking gentle iron supplements

Blood test follow up
Thank you all for your help. Results of discussion with doc - Parathyroid hormone: 10.93 (range 1.5-7.2), higher than range but lower than a year ago apparently (14+). This was a few months before my GCA diagnosis. Still waiting on results for B12, iron, folate. A year ago vit D levels and calcium

Can anyone recommend a good private pernicious anemia doctor anywhere in Scotland? Two NHS GPs ignored my symptoms they don't listen
Hello, I am desperately looking for a doctor who is competent about vitamin B12 deficiency and/or pernicious anemia. I am positive to gastric parietal cell antibodies, my B12 levels are 444 (should be between 200-883) so nobody takes me seriously because it's not low. GPs won't even consider injections

Low B12 levels link to RLS
https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S0303846722003584 A recent study from China links low B12 to RLS and depression Only 80 people in the trial though so it does need more research Many people with

anaemia
(caused by low B12) have RLS.

Thyroid and Folate deficiency
I've been on Levothyroxine for many years (100mg). After contracting Covid last year and being unable to match previous physical performances, I was diagnosed with a folate deficiency. I was told this was common post Covid, was prescribed folic acid tablets and saw an immediate improvement. I was told

T3 much better but feeling worse again!
I'm on a high dose of levo, 200mcg per day (I weigh 80kg right now), and just got test results back that show my T3 levels are much improved. However, of course, my TSH is now below range and my T4 way over. My ferritin, etc, is as bad as it's ever been, despite taking 210mg of ferrous fumarate each

Will NHS GP accept results of Medichecks IFAB test if positive?
Thinking of testing privately for PA as have not managed to persuade my GP that declining B12 levels are a possible cause of increased fatigue, nerve pain and other symptoms. Latest test showed B12 at 212 range (211 - 911). I have Hashimotos and have corrected folate deficiency on prescription for
