Lab work
Got my labs yesterday and. Was happy to see how well they were. ALB is still low but coming up. Kt/v was 2.41 not sure how they do that on hemo but I’ll take it. Potassium and phosphorus are in range as is hemoglobin. My PTH was low so I need to stop the calciteol. Since my BP at dialysis on Thursday

AWAK Artificial Kidney Update
I’ve been watching this, among other, innovation research projects for several years. Many focus on HD dialysis, but the AWAK artificial kidney project targets PD dialysis. Below please find a link to a recent YouTube video with an update on this project. Jayhawker https://www.wsj.com/video/awak-wearable-artificial-kidney

Peritoneal dialysis and Neck pain at night during exchanges ……any help? Asking for my mother
She has been on
peritoneal
dialysis
for about 3-4years. Her exchanges happen at night on machine (not manually). Most recently she has been dealing with pretty significant neck pain. That happens almost like clockwork at 2am. No improvement with Tylenol, pillow change, rubbing neck.

struggling with fatigue, anyone else?
I was recently in hospital and ended up very ill with sepsis and I’m also on dialysis 3 times a week but since I got discharged I’m really struggling and the simple tasks totally exhausts me. I’m hoping I will get better over time but I hate feeling so weak. Before I went in hospital

Part Time PD
Has anyone with good numbers (hemoglobin, potassium, phosphorus, etc) ever tried "part time"
Peritoneal
Dialysis
? Meaning like 3 days a week, or 4 days a week, rather than 7? Let me know, I'd like to build a case to talk with my Neph about this idea.

Seeking advice and comfort, please help.
Hello, I’m a girlfriend to my boyfriend who is stage 4. And a step mom to his 11 year old daughter who is my own. My boyfriend was born with one kidney; took care of himself and now we are at the point where he needs dialysis. He’s already on the transplant list. It gets hard knowing how tired he is

turned down transplant
Hi there comrades, My husband (age 56) just turned down ‘ the call’ and I am , we are absolutely shaken by the decision even though we spoke about it before I did not think he would really carry it through. He lived through 2 very complicated & traumatic transplants that didn’t necessarily give him

Just got back from appt with my new Nephrologist. Went over all my records, test results, current health, etc What a difference! As all are aware, my egfr dropped from 47 to 33 almost overnight. Have added Resveratrol for 6 weeks & found gfr up to 37 & now the last one is at 41. Creatinine is high

Stage 5 renal failure plus dialysis and cirrhosis of the liver
Wondering if anyone else in the world is dealing with these two together. My husband is, and we're scared. We're hopeful, but doctors don't know how this happened other than being diabetic for decades. Never a drop of alcohol, but a heavy meat eater. Diabetes is in control, A1C too, but hemodialysis

Back home from hospital
Got released Thursday after dialysis and back home by 530 pm. Took forever to get the discharge paperwork, get the IV out and the supplies to change my dressing. I have several follow up appointments and new meds. I med to gain 10-15 pounds and get my strength back. For the most part my labs are good

Making it real
😆 I'm told that this may complicate ever going on
peritoneal
dialysis
because there will be less room for a port to fit. I'll be around here often enough to complain about things. It's hard to do this when you live as far out in the country as I do. So, keep an eye out for me.

Amino Acids-Protein Hydrolysate - the generic form of Pro-Stat RC.
Does anyone on Dialysis use Amino Acids-Protein Hydrolysate, the generic form of Pro-Stat RC? If so, how does it taste. I've tried LiquaCel and it's just nasty.

Digestive symptoms post dialysis
my husband has been on center hemodialysis for about a year and a half. None of the medical staff seem to be able to understand or help with the extreme throat/esophageal discomfort he feels for close to 24 hours following dialysis., with no appetite. I wondered if anyone else has experienced this. He

Dialysis, what are the cons?
I'm a way off from having to have dialysis but am wondering about the cons of it. I know the pros but would like to hear from dialysis patients what it's like, the cons, the diet, labs, etc. Not really sure but I have a feeling that it's not as cozy or as simple as it looks to be. Also, maybe from
