Very quick update - NEPC
Had my PET scan and met with the MO today, and the diagnosis is ... neuroendocrine prostate cancer. He claims this is a new cancer that originated in the neuroendocrine cells of my prostate, as opposed to mutations of my original prostate cancer. The good news is now I have a treatment plan and my

I am a female ages 73 with atrial fibrillation. I used to run up to 40 miles a week but 6 years ago I had a cardiac incident while doing a 10k run and since then I am very short of breath. I had an angiogram after that incident and was told that the anterior cardiac artery is 60% blocked but because

Message For Boris
Hi Boris Just to let you know You will never forget the Names of the Nurses who cared for you. I am almost 5 years post CABG and I can still picture Kerri Ann a young Australian CC Nurse who looked after me when I was rather poorly after the operation. Every time I came round Kerri Ann was there taking

Constant pain and fatigue
I'm wondering if anyone can help me I had a heart attack in November 2017 and had 4x stents put in as I was to young for a bypass. I kept having a chest pain for over a year so they decided to do another angiagram in March 2019 where they found a stent had failed and another artery was getting narrow

Angioplasty support
I am new to the forum and just wanted to provide any support for anyone undergoing a stent procedure or recovering from one. I am a 61 year old male and I kept myself active with running, sailing, cycling etc. However, I started to become breathless when walking the dog. Net result was that I needed

Extra sleep
Since having my heart attack on new years day this year and having a stent put in and being told I'm fixed I'm well on the road to recovery however I find I'm needing around 9 hours sleep a night, is this normal?

Dangers of b12
I read this on web MD - is it correct? Vitamin B12 is LIKELY SAFE for most people when taken by mouth, applied to the skin, taken through the nose, administered as a shot, or injected into the vein (by IV). Vitamin B12 is considered safe, even in large doses. Mild itching has been reported in one person

Looking for advice
Hi. New to this forum. I had a heart attack and CABG x3 last October. I've since completed a cardiac rehabilitation course. Is the Couch to 5k programme suitable for me? Any advice greatly appreciated. Many thanks.

Graft repaired
Thanks to everyone for your support and advice. My husband was found to have one failed graft and some calcium build up in his arteries. The surgeon said they were reluctant to insert stents in formerly repaired grafts but he said he'd give it a try. He enlarged the artery with a balloon as much as

Does anyone know...
Do you come off the clopidogrel a year after your heart attack or a year after a stent? As a very very Miss Clumsy it would be nice not to look like I’ve fought 27 wrestling bouts. I know I’m on the aspirin forevefverrer

Hello from a newbie
Hi, I've joined this forum as I had a heart attack on Monday at the ripe young age of 46. I've had a stent put in and apart from finding everything tiring, I am feeling very well. Tonight is my first night home and I'm finding it a little difficult to get to sleep as I'm missing the reassurance of telemetry

communication!!!!!!!!!!
aged 76 I suffered a triple heart bypass aged 74. Since I packed up playing rugby in 1983 aged 40 I have suffered chest pains despite playing badminton and tennis to a later age. I learnt long ago that there is a nerve traveling from your anal area to your chest and irritable bowels can cause chest pains

Update, still got discomfort
Still got discomfort in the top of my chest, under my left arm and neck. Does not get worse on exertion and even disappears sometimes. GTN does improve it. Doctor says it’s almost certainly not my heart as it does not get worse with exertion ? Doc says Could be the meds but thinks it’s to early after

Online workouts
Hi All, So as we are all now self isolating and staying home as much as possible it means I can't go out on my CABG post op daily walks. Can anyone recommend any good online workouts (YouTube videos, online sites etc) I could do at home to keep my recovery on track please? Thanks Brian
