Advice regarding setting of expectations ahead of cardiology appointment would be appreciated.
AF since March 23. Currently only really experiencing breathlessness on inclines. No experience of HR over 100 (as far as I know). Devices confirm persistent AF since March. Echo revealed a few mild heart failure issues and recommended cardiology review, which is due in a couple of weeks. My question

lugols iodine
hi all, I’m starting a course of lugols iodine on Monday prior to a thyroidectomy. I’m quite gippy with things like that. Can anyone give me any tips, such as before or after food and also can you drink something sweet straight after to get rid of the taste. Thank you

Afib worse since Ablation
I had Covid in Oct 2022. I was 57 at the time and in really great shape. I exercise everyday, average about 15,000 steps a day and fast 2 to 3 days a week. As my Covid was winding down and I was feeling better I started having Afib Episodes for the first time in my life. They started off

How do I know I’m in Afib ?
Diagnosed with afib about 6 weeks ago. Was being treated for tachycardia prior to this, with Diltiazem 120mg x 2d. . Now on 180mg Diltiazem x 2 day, plus Edoxaban. I wasn’t aware of myself being “ in afib” until I was seen by gp. I’ve read lots of comments here where people seem to know when they

Mitral valve (moderate)regurgitation and AF.
Has anyone with AF been diagnosed with MVR? What is the treatment, can you still have an ablation or perhaps......this may not be needed if the valve is repaired? To me it does seem pointless having an ablation if the Regurgitation is the cause of AF and this is not addressed first. On the plus side

When you talk about heart rate on here . Do you mean the red pulsing heart ? On Apple Watch .
I’m starting to ignore the ecg as it’s getting me and hubby confused so concentrating on the red heart on the Apple Watch . As I think the ecg counts the flutters from the top part of the heart thst gets confused with the electrical signals . The heart function nurse said that digoxin can mask the problem

Increasing NDT dose
I’m in deed of advice once more. I was advised by Endo to increase my dose of NDT from 75 mg Efra but after several attempts, I failed. I was taking 75 mg + 25 mcg Synthroid every morning. Not feelingg100% but functioning. He suggested I take 60 mg +25 mcg Synthroid in the morning and another 30 mg

Dear Friends, I’m feeling really not so positive just now and that’s really unlike me… Long story short for some members: AFib for three years, fast (150+beats) I never go back into NSR without a cardioversion. AFib due to hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. I was so happy after my successful ablation at

Quivering sensations
I hope you are all wellMy question : Has anyone experienced episodic "quivering" sensations that are very brief, 10 seconds or so? I've had something similar before, several years ago and wore a Zio patch for 2 weeks but never picked up any A-fib only PACs and PVCs. I am now 67 year old dx with paroxsymal

castration after 7 years of ADT
I have been on Zoladex for nearly 7 years and am fully over any regrets of Chemical castration. My psa is now slowly rising and ghastly taken 2 years from undetectable to 0.65. I am considering surgical castration now as it would mean no more 3 monthly Zoladex injections and a reduced chemical load on

When to take bisoprolol ?
Hi , My husband is on 7.5 in the morning and I’ve reduced him to 5 in the evening as he has been so tired all the time . They only upped it by 2.5 when I rang heart function nurse when his ecg on his watch was creeping up to 130 . He was on digoxin before which seemed to keep his ecg around 89/90 but

First Post - Flecainide with Diltiazem
Hi, my first post but have been a member and avid reader of all your posts (which have been very informative) since joining in Feb 22 when diagnosed with AFib. Question - does anyone have experience of taking Diltiazem alongside Flecainide, and if so, has that been ok in terms of QoL and side effects

No more propafenone!!!! What???
I'm in the U.S., diagnosed PAF ~3 years ago. Have achieved excellent control with propafenone (Rythmol). My pharmacy informed me they cannot refill my prescription, as there is a supply side problem with propafenone. From what I have read, there is a dangerous shortage of propafenone in the U.S and
