Supporting evidence for PIP
I’m ploughing through the online form and it keeps saying about supporting evidence. I was diagnosed in 2021 by my then GP in the midlands over the Covid period - so not many doctor visits. Not much prescribed, using paracetamol and/or ibuprofen as and when necessary. Basically have been self-managing

A series of flares
I was first diagnosed with PMR at the end of 2018 after a very stressful journey to Australia, and since then I have managed to reduce to 3.5 mg of prednisone. I started to taper slowly to 3mg and then to 2.5mg and I had a flare. I needed to go back up to 5mg to control the pain in my neck and shoulder

on holiday and a hard lesson learned with this disease.
since reducing effectively to 4mg (from 15mg in Oct 23) and getting on with life albeit at a much steadier pace, my Dr has recommended 1mg reduction every 8 weeks. I am currently on holiday in Canada, we are in week one of 3. I decided to stay at 4mg and not even consider reducing to at least a week

Flare treatment
Have had a ‘good’ run from 30 to 7mg but been feeling rotten of late. It’s like my steroids, HRT snd Levothyroxine have all suddenly stopped working and my mood has plummeted. Suspect it might be adrenal glands but now have a PMR flare to deal with. I had a dose of cold couple of months ago and some

HELP ...... PIP application - where do I start?
I'm so confused!Do i have to call for an application form or is there somewhere online. The very thought of the application process terrifies me, not to mention completing the form. Because i only take paracetamol and/or ibuprofen for pain when I need it I feel like not going to be taken seriously.

side /back and stomach pain
Edit! Ok so I didn’t pick up the antibiotics Friday as it was 50% improved . It’s still not completely gone though. Maybe not even that!? If you were to stand with your hand on your left hip /waist with thumb at back ( you know !)that gap under rib hard to explain , that’s where it is and that part

Ibuprofen gel/cream
Morning, all. I don't take ibuprofen tablets for pain because of my GCAPMR plus IBS. I know it's not a good idea on preds. Could I use the gel on my neck, though? Or would that find its way into blood or stomach? Paracetamol does very little. Dihydrocodeine is highly effective, but I limit that as it

Pins and needles, sensitivity to water 6 months after severe Raynaud's attack with ischaemia
Hi there! My octogenarian mum finally saw the Rheumatologist again since last Nov. Nov23 she had a serious Raynaud's attack pre-diagnosis. We had no idea what we were dealing with and though her fingertips were ischaemic with some necrosis they were saved with 5 days emergency iloprost. Fast forward

Hi, saw SALT guy today. Ralph isn't going anywhere. He's been ringing round last 2 weeks and finally got to speak to the top woman in London. She says what he wants to do wouldn't work. Told him to work on getting the cuff down even if it takes a couple of months. The electric treatment didn't work,

Not sure of next steps after recent endometriosis diagnosis
Hi, I have suffered with heavy periods and pain during sex for years but I was told it was due to fibroids. In December 2020 I had emergency surgery to for a ruptured ovarian cyst. They had to remove my ovary as it was too damaged. Last October I started getting a dull ache down the left side of stomach

Does PMR affect one side of your body more than the other ?
I have only just been diagnosed two weeks ago but I have noticed a distinct difference in how PMR is affecting my RHS more than my left . And how long the steroids are taking to kick in in the morning . I’m doing 5mg at 2am and the rest whenever I wake , normally between 5 and 6 am with no real

Warfarin and Acetaminophen ? Are there any interaction please ?!
Hello, I'm just wondering which pain medications would not interact with Warfarin please? I know anti-inflammatories are not ok. What about Panadol (Acetaminophen/Paracetamol), is this okay to take while being on Warfarin? Appreciate any information you can provide, Many thanks Rosegardens
