Ductal PCA - Avoid T.U.R.P. and Self Cath
(well that was a cheap shot joke at my Mayo Team) Also just earned an entry ticket into the
Palliative
Care

First ten days in hospice
Methadone is tricky to initiate and titrate, which is why it is seldom used outside of hospice/
palliative
care
or specialty pain management clinics. It's lipophilic, has a long half-life, and takes a while to "load in."

Palliative care and intervential radiologist
I am now in
palliative
care
. I didn't really understand what this entailed. There is a group of doctors pharmacists nurses social workers etc that prepare and monitor you spiritually, physically, medically and emotionally. I won't be entering until the time is right .

As only
palliative
care
was offered, we read very widely (we are still reading and won't ever stop) and have had inter tumorial immunotherapy and cryo ablation with Dr Jason R Williams in Mexico. We are taking lots of supplements, COC drugs (no Doxy as it's an antibiotic) and RSO.

Facing my dad's dying days
On 3/30, I messaged my dad's primary
care
doctor, asking that with my dad receiving
palliative
radiation, would he eligible for hospice
care
? She deferred this decision to my dad's oncologist.

Can a twitch of the lip mean some consciousness for a brainstem-injured patient?
My relative is going into
palliative
care
after being on 3 points on the glascow coma scale for a bit more than a week. She reached a maximum of 5 or 6 I would say. The doctors say that a secondary injury to the brainstem reversed the slow progress.

Doctor suggested products from Millennium to counteract bran fog, extremely high dose b 12, other ingredients riboflavin, pantothenic acid, thiamin. Any feedback?

Androgen receptor (AR) heterogeneity ... and therapy resistance
New paper below [1]. Back in 2004, PubMed had the findings of a few studies that looked at PCa androgen receptor [AR] at diagnosis & in hormone refractory prostate cancer (HRPC), as CRPC was then called. At diagnosis - meaning before treatment - the AR was essentially 'wild type'. From a

Treatment end
Carry on now with
palliative
care
. In some ways I’m relieved but also feeling a bit lost.

Struggling to be positive
Palliative
care
only. At first I was ok just trying to make the most of each day but finding it harder and harder to do this. Thinking about how long I’ve got , how fast I’ll deteriorate and how death will be Don’t know how to lift myself out of this

Metabolic syndrome (disease) can be managed with IF.
Hi everyone, This is good news for sufferers of hereditary metabolic syndrome whose genetic makeup interferes with their metabolism resulting in obesity type 2 diabetes heart disease to name a few conditions that are of concern to sufferers and their families. Here's about Metabolic syndrome and a link

References for palliative/hospice care
Hi everyone, I just found this website today that has an extensive library of "fast facts" articles relating to
palliative
and hospice
care
. It's geared toward professionals but the articles are clearly written and should be very accessible to readers here. https://www.mypcnow.org/fast-facts/

PLEASE HELP ... REALLY NEED YOUR INPUT ... THANKS !
What are your thoughts / experiences regarding SBRT versus using standard of
care
/
palliative
radiotherapy in mCRPC ? My radiation oncologist is saying that the SBRT could be curative while the other would be palliative.

Nearing the end
Joe refuses to go on hospice, but we have a
palliative
care
doctor (who is also a hospice physician) who comes to our home. We are no longer seeking treatment as the cancer has spread literally to every bone able to visualized.
