Hi everyone re boosters
Hello all, I am trying to cope with side effects of another different COVID injection. Are they supposed to make you feel ill as if you have COVID? The flu injections don't do this. I've only once felt ill after a flu vaccine and that was the year of the bird flu, my arm always aches for some time,

Autumn Covid Booster
Got an NHS text this week, inviting me to book my autumn Covid booster. Went online and got a next day booking at a local pharmacy, who offered me a flu jab at the same time as the new Moderna bivalent vaccine that protects against Omicron as well as the earlier variants. All very efficient so hopefully

Mastectomy and Covid
Mastectomy and Covid! I had my mastectomy last Tuesday 20th September. My partner tested positive for Covid on Wednesday the 21st, followed by myself my daughter and my son-in-law. Anyway we are battling through. One issue is I am wearing a pico unit. This is due to be checked and/or changed tomorrow

Missed day 21 Buserelin shot & 3 month start question.
Hello, I have 2 questions that I would really welcome advice on… 1) I was meant to start my Buserelin shots last night as it was day 21 on the long protocol. However I came away without it. I’m wondering if it’s ok to start on day 22? Any experience with this? Of course I would ask my clinic but it

Is there a link between Avascular Necrosis and Hypothyroidism?
Hi everyone I have had left hip pain since May which has gradually worsened and had X-rays a couple of months ago. My consultant could not find much evidence of arthritic hip and sent me for an MRI scan. I saw him last week for the results and he said there was clear evidence of Avascular Necrosis

Covid Risk Based Approach to Travelling Abroad
Hi everybody I just thought I would share this with you. Many questions often arise if going on holiday. And just over 12 months ago I was having my bloods done and asked my GP how they work out if CEV people are safe to travel abroad. She told me they do a point based risk assessment to determine the

Confusing fibroscan result
Hello all, just a quick update on my partner following his visit to the hepatologist for a check-up 7 months after his last visit. Back in February he had a fibroscan that gave him a score of 16kPa, which was F3 severe fibrosis. At the time he saw a different consultant, who put his original decompensated

Inflammation markers elevated
I remember some people posted here that they experienced flare ups after Covid jabs. How long will this last? Weeks or months? I reduced my Methotrexate injectable from 25mg to 15mg in April and have been excellent until August ( the 9th) when had my 4th covid vaccine. Since then I am like steadily

The Bad Side Of UK National Healthcare
I believe in National Healthcare. People don't choose to get sick, but when they do become ill, healthcare should be available without sending a family into bankruptcy and homelessness. That being said, there is a dark underside to having bureaucrats and bean counters determine your medical treatment

Success stories with Day 2 transfer?
Hi all I'm currently going through my 5th ICSI round - we had success with our 4th but unfortunately miscarried. Yesterday was egg collection and I was riding high afterwards because I got 13 eggs which is more than I ever had before... then to come crashing down to earth today when we were told that

Flare protocol, vs Covid sick day rules
Hi - I had Covid in July, but still not back to normal. just after the acute Covid phase, I went to 20 mgs and stepped down after 5 days. This brought an improvement (or coincided with one). Back to 7 mgs for a few weeks. but now getting repeated nasty surges of pain, nausea, weakness. I notice two recommended
