Is Bicalutamide needed after Orchiectomy
Hi, My 73 years old dad has been in remission since last summer. I would like some opinion on the current medication that his doctor has put him on. - Bicalutamide (50 mg): He has been taking this daily since June 2022. His doctor has told him that he might have to take it for two more years. Is this

BIOCHEMICAL RECURRENCE -NOW WHAT?
Recently I have also got an
Orchidectomy
done in preparation for starting Xtandi or Nubequa. Is there any point waiting for PSA to hit >2.0 or one should start the medication immediately? Are there any other options? Is there any chance of a cure at this stage?

Orchiectomy?
The question mark tells the story. I am in this for life so I am tossing around the idea of an orchiectomy. I am now on Lupron and aberaterone+prednisone. I understand I would not take the Lupron anymore but how about he Abi as it works differently as in adreanals.

Study says orchiectomy has higher risks for fracture than chemical castration. I wonder why.

Why is hubby still losing so much weight?
We just got back from a week cruise, eating everything, and I thought for sure he'd gain some weight, but he still lost 1.5 lbs!! We usually gain 5-8 pounds! He's not trying to loss weight but it just keeps coming off! MO doesn't seem concerned since it appears he's within the "normal" weight range.

Hey lucky me - I now have 2 cancers
I wrote about this 2 months ago and things have changed so I'm re-writing my post: It's important to note I skipped my May Lupron injection.
8/30 Mayo C11 Choline Pet scan:
1. New choline avid marrow occupying lesion in the mid right humerus likely represents metastaticdisease. Additional focus

not sure my Onco (or I)understood the Denmeade BAT paper.
Help. Not sure that my Onco understands BAT. This is a short summary of my treatments Jan 2019 to present. Dec 2018 PSA 176 Gleason 9. Casodex only one month (PSA 33) Lupron (PSA Nadir 0.76) Lupron + Zytiga, Orchiectomy + Zytiga (PSA Nadir with Zytiga = 2.74) Zytiga failed but continued

Testosterone Trial? What!
Here’s an update and my experiences participating in a Testosterone trial through the VA. Later I discovered that I was the first person to be a part of this trial in all of the United States. My medical oncologist said that if we could get six to seven months on this protocol that we’d be doing well

Testosterone “Flare” (Or Testosterone?) Timing to Optimize Salvage Radiation Therapy
I have referred to the following article a few times in response to some posts about the use and timing of ADT when used in addition (adjuvant) to improve outcomes from salvage radiation therapy for BCR for failure after primary prostate treatment (surgical or radiation or other). Also for recurrences

Extracts from two papers on exercise and cancer. Paper 1 investigates the blood from 25 patients with mCRPC exercising. Paper 2 is a review.
The first paper indicates that a phase 3 trial INTERVAL-GAP4 is recruiting. I have not checked this. The patients used in this study were recruited to the INTERVAL-GAP4 trial (2016- 2020). I include the Abstract and the section about the exercise program used. I include the extract from the second paper

PSA rising
I have an appointment tomorrow with Dr. Aggarwal to discuss the prospect of LU 177 so would get as much information on the following as possible before that. I have been on ADT for some time now (now orchiectomy and Aberaterone) and have been monitoring my PSA to determine if the current treatment

Will Medicare pay for orchiectomy?
I have decided that an orchiectomy may be a good way for me to go. Will my insurances Medicare and AARP pony up?

Orchiectomy or ADT
I'm 80 years old with ED since my prostatectomy. Both surgery an radiation have failed to cure my PC so, I find myself at a fork in the road. Do I have an Orchiectomy or use ADT medications. from what I have read, Orchiectomy has shown to have better result than ADT in terms of long term survival plus

My #1 support person & me
I'm new to the form. I have mcrpc. I was on lupron injections for almost 1 year. I didn’t like the pain for 5 days after injection plus insurance only paid half the cost so I got an orchiectomy. I don’t regret that. Several months after the orchiectomy, my PSA level went up so my urologist said it’s

PSA rise
On aberaterone and had orchiectomy almost 6 months ago. I thought my PSA would drop to close to 0 but it did drop a lot after starting Firm is Gone (before the orchie) down to about 2.85 at its lowest and is now slowly rising. Over the last three PSA tests the doubling time is about 6 months. So this
