Inadvertent taper of prednisolone
I inadvertently took 5mg instead of 10mg prenisolone for 2 days( before which everything was fine) and all my inflammation symptoms of my uveitis came back(haziness etc). . Now I'm back on 10mg . Any idea how long it would take for these symptoms to resolve itself?

Varicose Veins
I've developed varicose veins just below my knee on one leg. I've had some permanent bruising on the same leg that the consultant says not to worry about for several years. Do I need to be bothered about the bumpy veins, or should I get it checked out? They e been there a while, some are colourless,

Calprotectin 452, Colonscopy and missing symptoms
Hi folks, I recently had a repeated Calprotectin test come back as 452 (previously 72). I have extreme weight loss (I’m currently a 34 year old female, 5’4” and 43kg) and have been experiencing months of daily waking to instant intense cramping and typically unpleasant bowel movement. I’ll continue

Temgesic/Buprenorphine
Jelbea and Shumbah have both posted recently about Temgesic versus Buprenorphine and the different half life of these 2 medicines. Both have Buprenorphine hydrochloride as the active ingredient BUT Temgesic has a much shorter half life. This means it will have to be taken every 6 to 8 hours throughout

problems wearing glasses?
Hi. I’ve always worn glasses - very shortsighted so a strong prescription and heavy lenses. For a long time I’ve had to pay for the lightest possible lenses and small frames, because of headaches. But despite that, in the last 2-3 years I get sores on the sides of my nose where the glasses rest. It’s

Disimpacted 9 year old and still soiling
my 9 year old has been suffering with chronic constipation for 6 years, we are all at our wits end. It is hugely affecting my, but more importantly her, mental health. At the beginning of July we had a hospital stay for disimpaction via a NG tube. This was effective. Doctor prescribed 5 ml of sodium

Juvia?
Hi, has anybody in this group tried Juvia? If so did it help and are you still using it? It sounds quite an interesting concept: its mixture of enzymes etc starts to digest carbohydrates before they hit the intestines. This lessens the chance of food fermenting and helping stop bloating, gas and bowel

Appendicitis and PMR?
I’m 67, have well controlled PMR and take 5mg of Prednisolone. I have been on a low carb diet because of a diagnosis of pre diabetes. On occasion I have been feeling tired recently and put that down to the change of diet. Ten days ago I got severe stomach cramps and a temperature and went to the GP

Just wondering how many are taking a PPI if they are taking Pred and alendronic acid? I have not taken any Omeprazole so far and my stomach has been fine but for the first time last night I had painful, burning reflux and I can still feel the after effects today so am not eating very much. This is

Could I get some input on these blood lines/streaks in my stool?
A few months ago I started noticing little mucus boogers on the outside of my stool as well as bright red drops of blood on my tissue after wiping constantly after either having diarrhea or the day after eating super spicy food. My doctor believed that it is internal hemorrhoids because of how it occurs

Remedies for low stomach acid
Hello. This is a follow up on a previous question. I did the baking soda test this morning to see if I had low stomach acid. I didn't belch at all so I guess that could suggest that I'm low !! I thought I would try some Betaine HCI with pepsin as that is quite often recommended. I asked my naturopath

Hi helpful community. I am on 40 mg or prednisone for CGA, tapering down to 35 in 2 days for 2 weeks. I am suffering from constipation. Is it due to the prednisone or the Calcium supplements (600 mg x 2 per day)? I take Miralax (Restorolax) every couple of days. then I take mineral oil for couple

Hi all, it's been assumed that I'm struggling with IBS for around 6 weeks. I've tried buscopan forte with no ease. Last Friday I started Mebeverine hydrochloride 3 times a day, it's not helping! For 6 weeks I have pretty much been stuck in the fetal position with servere cramping pain that I'm comparing
