Androgen Receptor [AR] Axis Therapies
Some thoughts on AR-axis therapy (androgen deprivation & AR antagonists) after reading a new assessment of the benefit of second-line drugs [1]. In a sense, I view myself fortunate to have been diagnosed in 2004. When surgery [RP] was not successful (nor salvage radiation) it was suggested that I begin

Low Red Blood Cell count
I did a search at this website and did not find anything substantial. I am on Lupron and Keytruda. I have low red blood cell count (3.44), low hemoglobin (10.5), and low hematocrit (33.0). These are typical values and vary at most 6% (up/down) monthly over the past year. Physician assistant says

PSA rise
Have been on Lupron and Zytiga for five years now. PSA has been increasing exponentially .02, .04, .16 Is this an indication that my medication is losing its effectiveness?

Undetectable PSA
Nalakrats and Tall_Allen Nalakrats, I saw your reply to JolleySprings. Is there something significant about the 20 month time frame (having PSA under 0.10)? I have 16 months of undetectable PSA with about five more months of treatment with keytruda and Lupron. That will finish up my two years of

Zytiga and Prednisone dosage
I’m currently taking 5mg prednisone daily along with my 1000mg abiraterone. I’ve noticed that my blood pressure has been creeping up… averaging maybe 140/80. Is this a case where I would maybe be a candidate for 10 mg of prednisone instead of just 5mg? I see my oncologist next week and plan on asking

First post-ADT followup. So far so good ... but it's early
I just had my first followup with my MO since I started my ADT vacation. Just to review: - Dx'd in October 2017. PSA 56. I had some mild BPH-like symptoms but nothing else. I've never had any other symptoms. The prostate biopsy confirmed the Dx. All cores showed cancer. One core was Gleason 9. A couple

Chemo as first treatment
Is there a reason as to why some patients go on ADT (Lupron, Firmagon, etc) and Chemo instead of a different path at the beginning of PC diagnosis? Background- my husband was first dx with stage 4 with PSA 350 and bone mets throughout (ribs, spine, pelvis, shoulders, skull). He started on Docetaxal immediately

Phosphate Levels Dropping
Should I be worried. Almost one year since last Lupron Injection, so six months approx since Lupron free. Feeling much better since Lupron is out of my system, and latest bloods show that PSA is still <0.1 and T is 14.6nmol/L. Unfortunately, over the past three blood tests my Phosphate levels have
