The Salt Room ...
Hi Everyone, thought I would tell you about what has happened to me over the last couple of days. I have been travelling quite well on 6 mgs of pred and tocilizumab jabs weekly and some girlfriends invited me to come along with them to “The Salt Room”. It sounded fab, described as a cure for all sorts

Welcome
Welcome all the new people who joined in the last few months, I appreciate you don’t want to be here but it is a good place to get help. We have heard from a few of you but it would be great to hear from all of you in new posts. It helps us by knowing how we can help you. Key items are: Which MPN?

She is not a candidate for Stem Cell transplant due to heart function being damaged from the heart attack, they feel she would not survive the host-graft

Lung nodule advice please?
I've been told over the phone today (by my gp because I wanted to know my results)that one of my three lung nodules has grown from 6mm to 7mm since my first scan three months ago. I'm really worried, I phoned the respiratory secretaries to ask what happens next, to be abruptly told that the consultant

Lung Transplant Survey Request
Hi Everyone Its been a while since I posted on this site - my mum had a very scary few months in hospital after receiving a lung transplant. Since then things have been progressing slowly in the right direction. As I come from a med-tech background and not working I would like to do something positive

Broken my shielding
Well I haven’t seen family since lockdown and haven’t been out of the house since January but the last two days everyone has been. My husband collapsed and there was no way I can manage him on my own so my family as well as sorting out the medical side of it came and did all the practical things.

The combination of four drugs at low doses is more effective and less toxic in the treatment of a lung cancer type
Inhibit the specific activity of a protein affected by a mutation using high doses of a drug is the usual treatment for many cancers. Despite in the first instance this strategy is effective, leads to treatment resistance development by tumor cells through the appearance of secondary mutations, which
