Nilotinib/Tasigna revisited for treatment of Ataxias.
I also intend to contact the manufacturer and anyone else I can find to encourage research into the use of
Nilotinib
for SCA. - - For those that would like to read more about this drug here are several related links.

A Neurologist is Asking YOUR Help to do a Study On a DRUG that Extends the QUALITY Of LIFE and CAN Restore LOST FUNCTIONS to Those With PSP
To make things a bit more complicated, there are generic forms of the drug,
Nilotinib
, that had some success, but the findings showed that the name drug, Tasigna, seems to do better.

Tasigna (nilotinib) and clinical trials
The drug Tasigna (generic name
nilotinib
) is licensed for the treatment of leukaemia (blood cancer). Some cancer patients taking Tasigna have experienced extremely serious side effects and anyone taking it should be carefully monitored.

Everyone reads SoPD; Radotinib 3.3 times more in the brain than Nilotinib
https://scienceofparkinsons.com/2018/06/17/radotinib/ But as Karen Rafael (Member of Parkinson's Research Interest Group (on Facebook)) "Don't you just love it when Simon has so much exciting news to share??!! One drug in clinical trials, another likely to head that way."

Another SCA1 cure being studied too slowly. PKA inhibitors.
patents.google.com/patent/US9259432B1/en - In the end though, this only makes me further infuriated at researchers and drug companies because here you have a line of research that has the potential to be a true cure, and what's more there are many other Protein Kinase Inhibitors ALREADY on the market like, Tasigna (

Vitamin D
Hi All, I've been on Gefitinib for 19 months and been getting rather down of late with what I take to be the numerous side effects. OK, I fully agree it's better than the alternative! My oncologist wondered if I had an underactive thyroid and included a blood test last time I had the usual consultation
