My first AFib episode since diagnosis
Well it’s gone from if to when, I suppose I am now fully fletched member of the club. I woke up predawn on Monday with my heart running ahead of me. Calmly followed my GPs advice and took my usual meds and waited, no dice. Phoned my GP and waited for return call and waited. Was told to take another

I’m starting to try cherry juice to help with pain relief from my neuropathy pain as I’ve read it helps have checked it all up about safety in taking it and it seems ok but last night I was on the internet and found an article saying that it could thin the blood so am wondering if anyone else here is

Ovira TENS unit - works for me!
Hi, just wanted to post that I recently got an Ovira TENS unit after months of deliberating and reading product reviews, and I wish I’d bought it months ago! It has been doing a great job controlling my pain. I wore it while driving for two hours yesterday (seatbelts make my pain worse) and was far more

Continuous pain
Waiting for laparoscopy and changing to a combined pill. I'm in absolute agony continuously. I'm on gabapentin and mefenamic acid and paracetamol. I've been using a tens machine and hot water bottle. If any one has any suggestions to relieve pain I am really open at this point I'm just so fed up

Chronic pelvic floor pain and bleeding after bowel movements
One doctor thinks I have pudendal neuralgia and wanted to do a
nerve
block
. But I wanted to have more imaging done and screening before that. The XRAY and MRI of my pelvis/tailbone showed that my tailbone was misaligned and bent inward like it was almost hooked.

Pain in side?
I do have lots of bone pain and may have another
nerve
block
. This pain is at waist level and spreads out. It feels all tight as if something is blocked. Constipation is an issue too. I am waiting for a colonoscopy now but I still have no idea if it's a colon thing, a lung thing, a bone thing.

Postherpetic neuralgia from Shingles
I have read of an Intercostal
nerve
block
but 1: I don't know if it can be done here in UK? 2: or if it can be done in the place where I have it? I think I am losing my life because of this excruciating pain. If any one can give me any advice or help I would appreciate it. Thanks

Ongoing neck pain
I’m just completely at a loss.... I have had ongoing neck /base of skull pain for about 8 years. Getting worse each day. Neuro have done mri’s and nerve conduction studies with no answer and I went to a chiropractor who xrayed me and said it was military neck. I take pain killers with no effect. Just

Soooo freaking panicky
I’m going to go get
nerve
block
shots in the back of both sides of my head. I’m freakin scared of that, and I’m taking a transportation service. I’ll be alone in a car with a driver. Now that makes me nervous. I don’t trust people easily. I’m shaking and sweating and just can’t calm down.

Update on my husband who stopped dofetilide (Tikosyn) after ablation
Update on my husband (57) who finally stopped dofetilide (Tikosyn) after having had an ablation last October. Well, after only a week, AF came back! (possibly triggered by alcohol). The doc said to go back on the dofetilide and up the metoprolol for his high heart rate. After four days he did go back

Diagnosing AF - advice needed
My mother is 85, had a pacemaker inserted a year ago for sick sinus syndrome with a very low heart rate. The irregular heart beat symbol has been showing up occasionally on her BP monitor during measurements. Previous use of holters to diagnose AF has not recorded any. Since the holter is used only

Are you taking BISOPROLOL for Heart Rate control? What are your experiences with the Pulse Rates on this drug.
Hello friends. Since diagnosed with AF 8 months ago, I have been on 2.5mg of Bisoprolol and Apixaban daily . My heart rate has been in the 40-65 BPM since then. Four days ago I had my second episode triggered I suspect by a pain killer that I have been taking for years. Since coming out from this my

"Today's anxiety attack is a real belter, how do I cope?"
You cope with it by doing nothing. That's right, nothing. You accept it for the time being. You agree to co-exist with it for the moment. You engage in 'masterly inactivity' to use the words of the woman who cracked the anxiety code and cured tens of millions of people of their anxiety disorder. And

Any studies on longterm effects of live shingles vaccine and PMR
I was wondering if anyone knows of any studies that have been done about those of us that contracted PMR after taking the live shingles vaccine. I wonder if PMR will last as long in our system as the shingles vaccine antibodies are active in our system? The pharmacist says the antibodies last 5+years

Metoprolol stopped working / quad bypass surgery
I have been taking 50mg of Metoprolol since I had quad bypass 9 weeks ago. It has kept my blood pressure down into normal range but about a week ago I started getting slight pain in my arms, under my shoulder blades and shortness of breath when active and moving around. I also noticed that my blood

Vulvodynia aching and burning pain
I was given a pudendal
nerve
block
during pelvic surgery, apparently as a pain reliever, and all the doctors feel this is what has caused the problem.

PAF to persistent
I have been in AF for 2.5 weeks now. Normally always reverted to sinus rhythm before 7 days. Any suggestions on what I could do to help convert back. Do you think it can still be possible that I revert? I’m on 1.25mg Bisoprolol and apixaban. My dosage of Bisoprolol had to be reduced almost 2 years ago
